I heard the Morseman's are heading to the Olympics.
I heard the Morseman's are heading to the Olympics.
Maybe to watch.
lets just see how the mansfield XC team is this without them! Let's see if they go anywhere! my guess is not to far but maybe 7th or 8th in the region! Specially being coach by a Race walker who thinks he knows distance running!
Atleast I do not have to listen to anymore bullshit. You ever wonder why people quit running at MU? well maybe it's the Coach? I mean i can think of atleast 10 persons a year that quit because of the coaches Bullshit. He respects no one, and needs to realize that each runner is not the same built or does not have the same ability as others. They need a distance coach not a damn Wanna Be Race Walker coach. Also For all you idiot's that shoot down dreams and hopes, You can laugh all you want, I am not running for MU becuase of the Coaches Bull. And as my Dream of the Olympics well see, There are alot of people out there that know how hard i train and how good i want to be. So i'm sorry i am not a ass kisser, or someone who takes shit and goes on with it.
With that being said Good to all the PSAC XC Teams.
I'll never understand all of the hating on Mansfield. I can see hating the Boro. I can see hating Haven. It's easy to "hate" on teams that are so damn good for so long that they make you want to give up running. But, I'll never understand the hating on Mansfield.

If you haven't done so, go enter the Letsrun WC prediction contest and join the PSAC group. Noticed that Philadelphia, Dirt, Sauls and a number of others have already done so.

Slippery Rock returns All American and conference runner up Jeff Weiss. The Rock adds an impressive array of returning athletes and new blood. Transfer Pat Reagan finished 11th at the 2006 East Regional last year and will be making his PSAC Cross Country debut after an impressive track season at SRU. Matt Bluman comes off a red shirt year in XC but finished 8th in the East regional in 2005. Chris Geddis who ran 14:47 during the track season will also look to help the men.
Edinboro returns All American Dave Niemira and a potentially very strong group of all conference and all region award winners including Dan Field, Travis Prejean, Jon Moneyhon and Nick Hankins. In addition Ben Hahn the PIAA 3200 meter champion has been added to what looks to be a very strong team.
Lock Haven the defending champions lost a few of their top runners from last year’s team to graduation. However the Haven will not be out of contention with the likes of all conference and all region performers Shawn Moore, Cory Spidell and Brandon Pomerantz returning. Lock Haven also boast a strong recruiting class and will be a threat to retain their title.

10. West Chester (79)
11. Millersville (70)
12. Mansfield (52)
13. California (31)
14. Cheyney (12)
Votes were assigned point totals as follows (1st = 14 pts, 2nd = 13 pts, ….14th = 1pt)
Edinboro returns all five of last Falls Championship season team. Rachael Lanzel (4th NCAA in 06') lines up again in better physical shape than ever. Now sophomore's Becca Nungesser (red shirt track 07), Erica Bourgeois and Kristine Beringer should all be better. Junior Ashley Ferraro will defiantly be improved. Edinboro will be bolstered by red shirt sophomore Kelly Bergeron, who if summer running predicts fall success, will be a front runner this year. Redshirt Freshman Kailey Harvey is definitely top five material. True Freshman Amber Sanders (NY) and multiple All State Naomi Hyde (West Virginia) could show the same grit that propelled EUP's young 2006 team to a 10th place NCAA finish.
Kutztown returns 5 of our 7 from last years Regional Championship Team (14th NCAA). We should be lead up front by Stephanie Williams (5th '06 Reg, 17:24, 10:12?), Joanna Horstmann (6th '06 Reg) who is having an outstanding summer, Maureen Watson (13th '06 Reg), and Cheryl Dingman (30th '06 Reg) who was competing w/ some nagging injuries during the '06 Championship season. If Dingman remains healthy and Horstmann focus we can be pretty good. With the departure of Chelsea Thomas and Desiree Bower we will need some individuals to step up. We return Julie Karaszkiewicz (11th '05 Reg) who can be huge but always has a problem staying healthy. Veterans Kristin Green (18:44 5k) and Hailey Dell are both healthy and can be key contributors as well as soph. Jolene Collins.
As for the new comers, we bring in our smallest class ever but we did get some talent. After both Spence and Russell landed every female distance runner under the sun this is what we got: Kristin Cupido - 5th NJ Group 4 North II, competing with mono (11:14 - 3200m) Cristina Reimer - 25th PIAA AAA '03 - Long layoff but is somewhat fit Keri Brown - 2x NJ MOC Qualifier, (2:16,5:13), senior year was her first year of xc.
Slippery Rock’s women’s team seems to have a lot of potential. Jen Harpp 17:31 in 2007 and 4th East region 2006, Katie Bork out with mono last cc season was 13th in East Region in 2005. Laura Mucho ran 4:39 in the short 1500 at the PSAC in 2007 for 2nd place, she was 28th in the 2007 East Region in her first year of running cross country, Leslie Kramer who is a 30 year old road racer that should be in the top 25 in the East Region. However, they will be looking for someone to fill the number 5 spot during the season.
So, predictions will be coming soon. But, in the mean time, I'm curious -- how many on this board think that Mansfield men will finish top 5 at regionals? There's a lot of Mansfield hatin' on here...I'm just curious if you think they'll be top 5?Hoovis
well i am just curious who they have that makes people believe they have the depth.
Not sure what Colton Point is by Mansfield seems to have run some kind of time trial.
hmm. so 5k.
Colton Point is a run that goes up from the river valley of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon to the top rim. It's a tough run in that you are in oxygen debt the entire way running switchbacks. Also, terrain is single track that's pretty rocky/rough in a few places, but way worse when going down than up.
I've run there several times, but don't think it's any harder than some of the runs I did my freshman/sophmore years at Ship. In particular, I remember starting off a run from Caledonia up to Long Pine Dam and being timed through a 5K, then having to do a long run out Ridge Rood, etc.
I'm a bit surprised Cummings didn't set the record on this run, but it was good to see their top 3 packed pretty well. And, their 4-5 runners were onlhy 1:20 back, which is promising. Should be an interesting year for this team.

I'm just curious as to how Wooten still has eligiblity, was that a typo that he's still on the roster?
Maybe I could enroll to grad school somewhere and run some meets?!!!
Didn't realize Joe Stanek is running there, local runner that I heard some good things about
Jake,
It's been a few months since I've checked the postings, so thanks for the shout out a while back (I'll do mine in a few). I ain't earning real scratch yet. I still gotta student teach before I graduate (I know I've been here forever).
I not leaving the PSAC be quite yet. I'm volunteering as an asst. coach for the Ville.
When I do finally graduate, I plan to substitute in the spring (while bumping up my training) and save the money up for a trip overseas to race my first marathon (The Failte Connemara in Galway, Ireland) Any one else up for it?
~Kerrigan
I want to know what people thing about the Top 10 at region.
give me names
Let's see a race before we name names.
Jeff Weiss..there you go, that's a given...everyone else, lets see what you got!
FYI, I'll be mixing it up with some of you this fall and I can't freaking wait, I haven't ran an xc race since 05!
Looks like Mansfield will thrive this season. Addition by subtraction?
Looks like Sauls is leading the Letsrun WC prediciton contest for the PSAC group:http://www.letsrun.com/letsruncontest/logincheckscores.phpOverall, tight race.Hoovis

Mansfield will go no where, Just ask Around. They be be running good time trials? What the hell is that proving, when it comes time to lace up the spikes they will choke! that's the simple line. They SUCK! and always will no matter what.
