rumor has it Monroe and the other top Lock Haven guys are badly hurt and will not be able to compete for the rest of the season.

ya, you can really tell from the results that they are all hurting. count them out for sure
it looks like Slippery Rock is the only team so far that we have not seen compete. Lock Haven surprised me with how fast they ran this early on their course and Edinboro looked dominant as usual. ESU looks like they have a pretty good 1 and 2 but kinda fall off from there. Ships times didnt impress me at all.
Too early in the season to jump to conclusions.
Edinboro is loaded and should be considered the early favorite. True, they don't have the legendary Watts at the helm, but the new guy has had some success and the team is very good with seasoned veterans.
LHU put up some very fast times...But that course is incredibly fast as well. It would be fair to say with their strong front runner, they are the number 2 team now. Coach Russell has an excellent track record with CC. They will as always run from the front in races and challenge the other teams to stay with them.
SRU is returning a ton of upperclassman and I'm sure they still feel the sting of last season. They should not be overlooked. This group understands they have a great chance to qualify as a team for Nationals.
Ship has picked up another strong front runner in Burleigh. They are awfully young and talented and for the most part but show a ton of promise. Never doubt Spence, We all know he knows what he is doing.
ESU had a great group of guys last year who really wanted to get to the show as a team and they accomplished just that. This year looks like they just don't have enough horses in the stable to be an impact at the top of the conference.
It should be interesting adding Seton Hill into the mix. I will need to see more results to get a feel for the rest of the conference teams. We should all learn a lot more of what the season will look like after this upcoming weekend,
Predictions from what I've seen and heard around the Conference so far:
Top 5 teams:
1. Edinboro: Just too strong, too experienced, too deep, definitely one of the top 8 teams in the country.
2. Lock Haven: Led by Monroe, this team has the talent to make a statement in the PSAC and the Region, if all their guys are firing on all cylinders on the same day, could actually give Boro a challenge in the team race.
3. Slippery Rock: Coming back with an experienced group and most of their strong pack from last year. Losing Geddis might hurt them a little bit considering 2 time all region, Travis Arrigoni is not in shape at all and possibly redshirting, making him a non factor, so one of their young guns will have to step up into that position. But this team is deep and this is their spot to lose.
4. Shippensburg: The addition of Burleigh will definitely help, he is a sure fire low stick in this conference and a possible all-american. They got a lot of talent too and a deep roster and will be ready to pounce on that 3rd spot should SRU falter
5. Indiana (PA): These guys are the dark horses. They got the talent in Keller, Costello, Ofman, and transfer, PSAC 10k champ Nick Patton. Should they find a 5th, and those 4 guys previously mentioned run to their full potential, this team should surprise and make a run at a Nationals Bid.
Top 5 Individuals:
1. Alex Monroe, Lock Haven, senior
2. Aaron Dinzeo, Cal, redshirt junior
3. Braden Burleigh, Shippensburg, junior
4. Bryan Deibel, Edinboro, senior
5. Chris Schneider, East Stroudsburg, junior
i hear ship got some eligibility back for kyle and jon gibson as well as getting transfer justin gibson from sfu. they're going gibson heavy this year for a national title bid
Gibson is not even on their xc roster so shut up
New Regional Rankings
1. Boro
2. Haven
3. Ship
4. Rock
5. ESU
6. Cal
7. Kutztown
8. Wheeling and Jesuit
9. Bloomsburg
10. WVU Wesleyan
Not Really surprised by any of these except that I expect IUP to move into 6th atleast once they run their team together and dont split the team for races. Rocks arrigonni a no show for the first meet if he isnt healthy and ready they may not make nats this year, but we will see what is in store as the season progresses.
The whole Edinboro team is training through the early season, competing at the KONA World IRONMAN championships, then gonna come back for Regionals. All I have to say is they're going to be the most Tan team on the start line.
I heard that too but I don't agree with it. As we all know Edinboro all ready has the tannest birds in the conference. So, despite that rumor they are actually all going to Ben Hahns wedding in Colorado and staying until conference to train and slay all of adams states women.
I've slayed all of Adams State's womens team already, and I can say that all of them have MUCH higher standards than to ever touch anybody from Edinboro's team.
That's just like your opinion man. Edinboro has big hearts..and penises
so who's actually going to win this year
Will we have two top 8 teams this year is the question.
We will have 8 top 8 teams this year, at regionals.

nope, Boro will be lucky if they get top 10 after their performance at Louisville.
Ship is currently self-destructing. Spence is kicking to the curb any men / women who don't strive for straight A's and abstinence. Don't even get Spence started on beer, it will likely lead to a beating. Honestly though, its a shame the team has to be that way considering how good they used to be. It seems like everything has changed since Spence's daughters joined the team.
Their top athletes don't travel to meets that are (too) far. The women can no longer do their secret buddy gift exchange because someone's name got spelled wrong and they cried. Seriously - Shippenesburg used to be the team to beat - now they are beating themselves. Not that it bothers me one bit... just pointing out an interesting trend that I suspect will bring the program back to mediocracy.
Thoughts?
I think someone's upset they are getting kicked off the team. I know a lot of the guys on the team and nothing is wrong with them nor have any of them been kicked off, so this has to be coming from someone on the girls side who is upset.
Im pretty sure they are still a team to beat. Both teams are looking like they are probably going to make nationals.
PSAC Championships by the numbers
Men
Edinboro - 29
West Chester - 8
Slippery Rock - 6
Indiana (Pa.) - 5
Lock Haven - 5
Millersville - 1
Shippensburg - 1
Women
Edinboro - 15
Indiana (Pa.) - 7
Shippensburg - 7
Slippery Rock - 2
Bloomsburg - 1
West Chester - 1
Thus on the men's side there has only really been one team to beat at least since 1970 and that was never Shippensburg. Even when they were good a couple years back they were not the team with the bullseye that everyone wanted to beat.
On the women's side Ship is the team to beat. And should be considered the team to beat for the next couple years until either the Boro women re-establish their dominance of the conference or IUP becomes a consistent winner year in and year out.
Hopefully the OP was talking about the women's team and is only upset because of a personal situation. No beer or sex is the first sign of the end! God knows no team in the PSAC has ever been successful without a "little" rock & roll.
