They were 7th. I loved Ship until I met this guy name Wade Miller. Man did that guy suck.
Cal U cutting all men's and women's xc/t&f scholarships.
Do you have any proof of this? If this is true, I expect both coaches to start looking for new jobs. Cal U had been putting significant scholarship money behind their track program(s); this would be a stunning turnaround.
What does this mean for the program? Is this an early indication that the school maybe be cutting the programs in the upcoming years? How many will leave bc of it?
Get the phones out now! Try calling to get their top guys!
Always a sad day when a cross country/track program loses funding and I think this can be seen as an excuse to cut the program down the line. It also shows that when you under perform as a program in xc/track&field administration at some schools will not hesitant to cut you. A sad day for the PSAC if this is true
Aaron Dinzeo's facebook status, "Seriously, Cal?"
In nationals news, I heard Lock Haven's plane had to make an emergency landing on the way to Joplin. Sounded quite harrowing.
Hi Everyone,
First of all, 'all men's and women's xc/t&f scholarships' are NOT being cut.
Secondly, the PROGRAM at Cal U is in no danger of being cut. In fact we are in the final stages of hiring a new full-time multi-events/jumps coach.
Furthermore, if we were in dire straits, I probably wouldn't have sent a check to Joplin for over $2600!

Finally, good luck to the PSAC teams at Nationals... and of course to Adams State!
All the best,
Coach Caulfield
We will see bout that. I'm sure they told Millersville the same thing before they cut that program
What kind of luck would that guy have since that happened to him already at Clarion?
I'm sure there are some changes on the way since they fired their president in the spring.

Not impressed
Coach Caulfield is the man. I have a loyalty to The Boro, but I visited Cal U and it is a great place because of Coach Caulfield. He is an upstanding guy who cares about his program more than most people care about anything. I hope they keep the program and he has a chance to continue to grow a legacy there. He has the recipe for success and runners to do the job. It just takes time. Best of luck to Cal U.
Legacy? Pure honest question, what Legacy?
Four PSAC runners in the top 25 at nationals. Not too shabby.
Can anyone give me an idea of the layout in Joplin? Those 10k results are fast. 8 total All America athletes from the PSAC is incredible and the times are eye-popping.
naw. but i can give you a layout of the post race party... shit got weird.
The course was built for speed. The majority of the race took place in a switchback style area with a very minimal amount of hills. The biggest complaint I heard from competitors was the amount of turning, and that was really the only thing that I could have seen to slow times down at all.
To go along with the course being in perfect form for fast times, the weather was also absolutely picture perfect. Temps in the upper 50s/lower 60s, partly cloudy, very minimal breeze. Not really many people's ideal "cross country weather", but seriously ideal conditions for running fast times.
As for the individual AAs - some people did what they had been doing all year, and some people stepped up. Pretty normal for nationals. I was incredibly impressed to see some of the individual performances that took place, but also wasn't surprised by how well all the PSACers performed.
track season now. Anyone got PSAC qualifiers? Plus, who's going to put up fast times in early December
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
