D3 is not an option wrote:
If the PSAC went D3 it would pretty much guarantee that we would lose mostly all of our top recruits. D3 doesn't offer athletic scholarships so there would be no way the Scott Anderson's, Bryan Beegles, or Nick Hiltons would even look at the PSAC. If you ran 9:03 would you even consider going to a school without scholarship money? The worst thing that could happen is for the teams to go D3

Well considering that the MIT's, Williams, Amherst grads start out making over $100,000/year after graduation and there is plenty of competition for running it would make you think. But no, surely would not want to do that. It would be much better to be on a mediocre team and get a degree where I can make $35,000 after graduation. But then again, if I do the math $100,000 - $35,000 = $65,000 x 40 years of working = $2,600,000. No I guess it is better to take that $3000 scholarship.
I realize there would be a much greater discrepency (closer to $3,212,000) because pay raises would be higher on $100,000 than it would be on $35,000 but you get the point. And if you invested the money and got a poor 5% it would be closer to $8,000,000.
