Vin Banana, Hoovis, and PeeonmyBallSac, are the only three sensible posters on this thread. I'm getting pretty sick of these ESU guys coming on here and saying how they are gonna take the spot. Go ahead do it and stop talking about it. Seriously, you guys must have something in your water that makes you a bunch of clowns. And if you do make it, it will embarrassing to watch you perform at nationals. Ship barely made top 8 with 7 all conference/region type runners. What do you guys have, three?
You like dudes.
what exactly is the format for teams/individuals to qualify for nationals? I thought I remember it being changed recently...though I may very well just be confused
in 2011:
top 2 teams from each region + 1 additional team for each top 8 finish at the 2010 NCAA meet. so the Atlantic region gets 3 bids this year due to ship's 7th men and 4th women in 2010.
individuals: top 2 non-team individuals or any individual who finishes in the top 5.
in 2012:
top 3 teams from each region + 1 additional team for each top 8 finish at the 2011 NCAA meet. this is why the teams who did not qualify should root like crazy for the teams competing at the national meet. though i think on the men's side it will take better racing than we have seen this year, the ship women have a decent shot.
individuals: i think it will be top 3 non-team individuals or anyone who finishes top 5 in the region (i could be wrong about this, i'm sure i will be corrected in a polite and informational manner)
who takes pictures for the regional meet besides slippery rocks home page?
Props to Ship for dominating the women's race scoring 15 less points then they did at Conferences and having their 4th Rookie of the year out of the past 5 years. Lock Haven's women also scored less points then two weeks ago and with that got second place. With Edinboro faltering and Mansfield 3,4, 5 struggling Bloomsburg kept it consistent and scored close to what they did at conferences being lead by Victoria Davis to get the 3rd team spot for nationals.
Neely Spence broke the course record heald by Jessica Pixler from 2008 Nationals and her teammate Spratford placed second. Brenea Edwards ran 3rd place again to earn an individual spot and Fitzgerald was the surprise of the day taking the other individual spot over teammate Mascoli and AA Elicia Anderson. Overall the race was strung out from the first mile on and it was a pure race guts and who had the most strength to survive the hills.
The mens race was billed to be very competitive for the 2nd and 3rd place teams because there were 4 teams that had a chance to go depending on who had the best race. Edinboro didn't run as well as they did at PSAC's but did get the win secured with their great depth. Haven with the help of Mitch Miller finishing showed that they were the second best team in the conference. Then the race for 3rd got dramatic. After the race it seemed that nobody knew who got 3rd between Ship and ESU and was there a chance SRU sneaked in there? Once the results were out it was Ship with 108, ESU 110, and SRU 130. Ship depended on their front runners Schealander, Gillette, and big race runner Eric Evans (went from 20th in the conference to 13th in the region). ESU had a great pack lead by freshman Schneider finishing 14th overall. They had the closest team pack with 43 seconds spreading their 1st through 5th runners compared to ships 2:49 second spread. Good thing for both ESU and SRU is that both teams are very young and show great promise for next year in track and cross country.
Individually Tim Getz steam rolled the course for over 2 miles leading tightly bunched pack of runners. Then the individuals started to thin out and we had a similar race that we saw at PSAC's. Monroe and Anderson are clearly the best runners on the mens side and again Monroe got the win. Dinzeo improved this week to 4th to get the first individual spot for nationals. with getz holding on to 5th the next individual spot would have to go back to 7th place finisher from Wheeling Jesuit Dustin Hall
Some runners that had great races yesterday was Eli Weeks from Kutztown who put himself up front and heald on for a 16th place finish. He was only 33rd at PSACS! Also Gainer for LHU improving from 14th to 9th and Eric Evans from 20th to 13th.
Overall the two races were a lot of fun to watch and it will be fun to see how many All American athletes we have in the conference after Nationals are finished. Ship's women are def looking for another top 4 finish and depending on front running for LHU or Edinboro could a mens team get top 8 again?
Predictions Women:
Ship 3rd
Lock Haven 11th
Bloom 15th
Individuals for All American
Spence 1st
Spratford 4th
Edwards 15th
Davis 20th
Lambert 30th
Fitgerald 35th
Predictinos Men:
Edinboro 8th
LHU 14th
Ship 16th
Individuals for All American
Monroe 10th
Anderson 11th
Schealander 15th
Getz 25th
Gillette 29th
Dinzeo 35th
Deibel 40th

"Clowns?" There must be something in your water that gives you the inability to say something smart and worth reading. I don't run for ESU. I'm just giving credit where credit is due. Grow up and check your grammar before posting, loser.
all those pictures are taken by coach papa. as far as i know hes the only person that does it
I think we need to talk about what's really important, and that's what's in Slippery Rock's water. Have you tasted that stuff?

Yeah seriously, that was absolutely terrible. As one of my teammates put it during outdoor PSAC's last year, "This stuff tastes like burnt hair." Could it perhaps be the Marcellus Shale drilling tainting the water supply?
Come on dude. The marcellus shale is just democratic propaganda just like global warming. Get some real facts and then come back.
It all depends on the water fountain you go to... the Morrow Field House raquetball courts have normal tasting water in it...
Ahh man how could I have missed the Morrow Field House raquetball court water fountain???
Don't drink the water, I tell them thats ok, I ain't going down to slippery rock to drink the water anyway
as for the individual predictions made...on the girls I'm going to say that 4 maximum all americans. Top 3 from regionals for sure will be, Neely obviously 1, Spratford 10thish, Edwards 20th, Davis 35th-40th. On the guys side Monroe and Anderson in the top 15, schelander, dinzeo, and getz in the 25-35 range and gillette maybe jumping in the top 40. Girls races are always pretty predictable in the sense that none of them really have great races, they all run the same times all year or have a horrible race in there somewhere. The guys could have somebody completely random in the mix though (ex. Brandon Boyer '10).
Team predictions for girls, Ship 6th or 7th because of their top 2, lock haven and bloom won't break the top 20, maybe lock haven will get 18th or 19th but these two teams just really lack a nationals caliber front runner, and the womens psac is just overall weak. on the guys side, It very possible to see Edinboro 7th and Lock Haven 8th. Edinboro has the depth and with anderson up front it will help. Lock Haven could get top 8 if their top 3 does well again. Ship will probably finish around like 15th just because they have a top 2 then it fades way back. Who knows what is going to happen though, but based on years past this is the best I could come up with.
lets start hearing some track talk since the season is over for pretty much the whole psac.
the only truly interesting distance event is the men's 800.
The DMR will be a competitive relay.
Gillette or Schelander will win the mile.
Monroe will win the 3k and 5k, he is an impressive athlete and if he continues to develop could rewrite every psac record from 3k and up.
Neely Spence will win whatever she races with a chance that Spratford could pick up a title if Spence doesn't run the 5k.
Raudabaugh will win the women's 8, are any of the SRU girls back to challenge her? I see Hancox running XC but I thought she was a senior last track season.
Ship's DMR will win again.
The men's DMR and 800 should be the most competitive events.
XC predictions:
Women
Ship 5th
Haven 13th
Bloom 18th
AA Indiv:
Spence, Spratford, Edwards, Davis, Fitzgerald
Men:
Boro 11th (hope I'm wrong)
Haven 14th
Ship 18th
AA Indiv:
Monroe, Anderson, Schelander, Gillette, Getz (if anyone deserves to go out an AA its Getz) really want to put Dinzeo in here but I have trouble believing the region will bring back 6 AA honors, seems too high.

for anybody who's anybody, the season is still very much in full swing.
coming from within sru hancox has an indoor season left but im not sure about outdoor. if she does have outdoor though without snyder to train with its a toss up to see how much she will improve.
The PSAC men's 800 will be legit. I'm the only person from the top 8 not back, and Chris Wolfe just transferred from Louisville and will definitely be throwing his name in the hat.
