I'll see you pansies on the course.
I'll be drinking beers and fightin' queers. GO IUP!!!
question: while looking at psac pics it seems beegle began the race with a long sleeve shirt. in the finish photos he is missing a sleeve. can anyone elaborate on the missing sleeve?
p.s. good job and congrats to everyone who ran at PSACs
The sleeve was caught and ripped against the fence at the bottom of the large hill, the sleeve was hanging so he ripped it the rest of the way off. Another runner from another team that I cant remember also had a bad run in with the fence, but his caused a gash in his arm that looked like it may have required stitches.
yeah Chris Zadroga from ESU caught his right shoulder on it...great job to everyone who ran! Fun course if I may say so (Minus the hill(s))

good performances all around. what are everyone's thoughts, any surprises?
Ship's men and women were surprising in my opinion. Not that they won, but that they claimed 5 of the top 10 in each race and 17 of the 40 all PSAC awards. That was surprising to me.
Yeah I was gonna say the same as Vin. That hill was harder than I expected also...wasn't expecting it to be that tough! Good course, though - I enjoyed running it. I wonder what St. Aug's course is gonna be like
i believe i got 16 of the 20 men correct missing on Zondlo, Sitler, Wilt, and Laria. As well as getting 17/20 women correct. I believe I missed on McCollum, Ries, Frey. I am starting at results and not my earlier posts, so that could be incorrect.
I am not going to take the time to re rank everyone, but make the predictions on the athletes and teams that will be making the trip to Churchill Downs.
Men:
Ship- Impressed, i underestimated them, but I do not believe they will score under 30 again at regionals.
Edinboro- Ben Hahn will improve as much as Hilton, but Watson and Thomas will move past a fading Getz to sneak the 2nd bid.
Individuals: Hilton- Lock Haven: maybe sick? not sure but that performance does not vibe with the season he is having.
Chebii- Winston Salem State (just ran 24:31 on the 8k version of the regional course at CIAA meet)
Women: Ship- WOW.
Edinboro- I hate to be repetitive, but they have solid front running and the best 4-5-6 combination last week. However, anyone 2-6 at PSACs could get this spot and I would not be surprised.
Individuals:
Anderson- Millersville: great run at PSACs, peaking at the right time.
harpp- Welcome back. not as fit as she was in track, but still enough for the bid.
Anybody headed down to Cary to watch the race? If so, let me know.. I'd be interested in carpooling and splitting gas/lodging!
Send me an e-mail, bro. I'm going!

i can't believe how bad this conference is on the women's side. there are at least 6 d3 teams in that region that could have come in 2nd in that meet. after ship there is nothing there.
I gotta say I don't think any DIII teams in the area would have been in the top 8 at the PSAC meet. The number one and two teams Alleghany and Haverford got beat up pretty good at Paul Short by a bunch of PSAC schools. I don't think they would have faired any better now versus earlier in the season.
Good job of trolling though because you got me to respond though.
whoops. Got the regional rankings wrong there for women. Hopkins would be right in there. Dickinson would put up a good fight but I don't think they would be in the top 5. Haverford might make top 10.
My thoughts are as follows: What the hell is happening at west chester?

Maybe not local but the top 5 women's team in D III would beat Ship and the top 7 men's team would win PSAC's. Other than Ship no one else is worth mentioning.
I think ship might put their top 7 in before any women's DIII got their 5 runner in. Not a DIII team out there could touch the Ship women. I would suspect the same for the men. Unfortunately I'm not sure that any of them have faced off.
LHU and Ednboro men are pretty good too. The women's side does drop off after Ship but I would say there are probably about 8 teams that would finish in the top 25 at DIII nationals.
Crazy to think only 2 get out of the region on both sides. Regionals should be fun to watch.

i'm talking about women. dickinson and elizabethtown both smacked slippery rock's women in the face about 1 month ago on their own home course. If etown can do it, then at least 5-6 women's teams in that region can do it. would that be enough to get them past edinboro into 2nd place in the psac? it sure looks like it. what am i missing?
you know half of the rocks team didn't run that race. jen harp is an absolute stud but didn't race until psac's. she finished 4th. the girl (burnick)that won that race at the rock was 11th at psac's. check out paul short results this year. kutztown and millersville women were right around suny cortland (#9 DIII). dickinson actually is not as good as cortland. doubt they could keep up with the middle of the psac pack. kutztown, millersville and esu were very tight for 4th, 5th and 6th at PSAC's this year. etown has a couple of good women but they would be mid pack runners in the psac.
again hard to say for sure with out facing off but to be honest i think the PSAC is probably the deepest DII conference in the country right now. 8 different women's team have been nationally ranked this year. i can't think of DIII conference that even has half the depth of the PSAC.
as a point of interest the PSAC had i think about 10-12 women break 17:30 on the track last year. I think 5 broke 17. this is a no joke conference. these women can flat our run here. DIII school would be hard pressed to match up although certain teams in the top 10 nationally would be able to match up. although not with ship women.
Mansfield's women ran without Brenae Edwards this year. A 16:30 Gal
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
