Lot of good performances showing some early season fitness this weekend.
Buid Pluszenski taking 2nd to one time DIII National CHamp Peter Kosgei in some race.
Greg Laria finished 4th at the Fordham Invitational.
Edinboro running well last week in Buffalo with Hahn winning and setting a course record.
Lock Haven looks like they might actually have some depth this year.
Ship and LHU running at Dickinson this weekend. The day is broken up into 4k and 8.1k. Should be interesting
Anything else going on this weekend?
Who is Justin Amy??
Cutest 800m runner in the PSAC

hey PSAC,
any updates on the situation at West Chester??
the first big weekend of racing this season is upon us. Boro v. Ship in Kentucky, Haven's men and women traveling to Paul Short.
Rock hosting a meet at Cooper's Lake. Kutztown women and men traveling to Paul Short, East Stroud taking their teams to the lightning fast course at Salisbury to square off with Mansfield.
So far, none of the big 3 on the mens side have made any separation. On the women's side, I don't know that there is a clear number 2 team.
Saturday marks 5 weeks to PSACs and 7 to regionals, we should start getting some answers this weekend.
don't sleep on IUP. the Crimson Hawks are flying to Lehigh with their aim set on kickin ass and smokin grass
412 Fisher stand up!!
Very impressed with LHU men at Paul Short. Ship men at Louisville are just crazy fast. Edinboro has a very good team but not looking like they are quite on the same level as the other two at the moment. There is a bit time though. Should be exciting races down in NC.
I agree.. LHU looked really impressive at Paul Short and Ship's times at Louisville were way fast..
I'd never count Edinboro out though, I know Watts will have his team ready for regionals!
Predictions for those making the trip to nationals based on Performance to this point.
Men:
Shippensburg- good depth and a tight pack makes it hard to bet against them.
Lock Haven- The conference's best front runner and best freshman reside on the same team. The key to this team will be consistent performances at PSAC and regionals.
Edinboro's men deserve consideration here. Assuming Alex Beardsley rejoins the top 5, they are about 50 point closer to ship at Louisville and coach Watts has a very long history of getting his men to nationals. Anderson and Hahn are the top 1-2 in the conference.
There will be at least 3 coaches doing some nervous finger math at the PSAC and regional meets.
Individuals:
Ben Hahn- Edinboro
Bud Plazenski- Mansfield
Hahn has been an excellent XC runner and looks to be healthy and racing well this year. Plazenski has shown excellent range and I think he will be focused on that regional meet.
Women:
Shippensburg- No explanation necessary.
Edinboro- Solid front-running from Yi and a pack that will continue to progress as the season goes on. I don't see Coach Watts getting shut out of the national meet, I think his women get the job done.
Slippery Rock's women have the tools to take over that spot, but they have not run to this point, which has me worried about possible injury or illness among the Rock women.
Individuals:
Elicia Anderson- Millersville
Jen Harrp- Slippery Rock
Anderson stuck close to Mary Dell at Dickinson, and is progressing well in her time at Ville. She gets a top 5 spot at the regional meet.
Harrp is the biggest contender the Spence crown if healthy. You will see Spence, Harrp, Dell, Anderson, and Yi in the top 5 at the regional meet.
pretty nice look at the PSAC as it stands right now. Well done vin banana. Opps sorry this thread is for bashing only though. I take back my compliment :)
LHU did well at Paul Short, but they weren't THAT impressive. Edinboro ran a lot better last year than Haven did this year, and so did Ship. Hilton ran well, and so did their freshman, but other than that I wasn't impressed.
you do know that Lehigh was about 30+ seconds slower this year than it was last year because of the mud..
I think haven was better this year than Ship and Boro when you take that into account

I wouldn't say 30+ seconds, did you even see the course? Yeah it rained and was a little wet and muddy, but 30+ seconds? No way. Your coach probably told you 30+ seconds so that you would feel better about your mediocre performance, man up next time, no excuses.
That course at Lehigh was in good shape for a few races (open races). it kept getting more and more torn up as the day went forward. looked like for the gold race it was still in ok shape but it certainly had to be a bit slower then last year. it got pretty bad for the brown and white races.
How's Cali's XC course? Anybody ever run it?
I heard it was flat as a pancake, kind of like Haven's or Mansfield's courses.
