I would be worried for anyone in monster shape in July... Nat's aren't for another 20 weeks. But yea who ever is healthy is going to win. It will be another 3 horse race until somebody goes down with a bad hoof.
What's this about Lock Haven bringing in some Brits?
I don't know if that rumor is true or not but if so, thats some bull. I didn't think they would stoop to that level.
This is America, I speak English
and what do they speak in Britain?

You must be friends with Aaron Russell on Facebook. Yes it's true: Lock Haven University, like all schools, has foreign exchange students coming this year and a group from Britain happened to arrive this week. I hope their presence on campus doesn't taint our conference's all uhmurrikun vibe. Let's just hope they stay in their classrooms/dorm rooms and not bother any of us, if they know what's good for them.
I predict Lock Haven, Edinboro, and Shippensburg will cut cross-country from their sports budgets, making the PSAC actually interesting
yeah nothing more interesting than a bunch of 28:00 min guys duking it out... jackass.
I think it will be a good year for the psac... a few top guys who should be all american and Hilton who should be wayyyy up there, but also a very deep year.
Ship and Haven are the top two teams in my opinion. Edinboro could put up a fight if hahn is healthy but he has proved that is unlikely. However they seem to get a bunch of randoms from across the northeast and put them on a steady diet of 100 mlile weeks so you can never count them out.
I think ship is unbeatable with their whole team healthy but that is also unlikely... beegle seems to have injury problems frequently also (didnt he only run about 2 or 3 races in xc last year and was not in top shape during track?)
However ship has guys who are good enough to step up for injured runners in Beegle, Stetler, Neyhart, Rissell, Schelander, Buck, Gillette, etc. I think haven only has 4 or 5 real quality guys so if one of them goes down (like getz last year) they could be in trouble and really hurtin for a 5th man. Hilton, Getz, Johnson, Miller, Zondlo are all quality runners but I think ship simply has more depth and when nationals is in Dec and when Haven advocates 110 mile weeks all season their are bound to be injuries. Depth will win out, as it always does.
I have also heard multiple rumors of transfers including an Asian for boro, European for Haven and Kenyan for ship. who knows if any of these are true though... these things usually never materialize.

Lockhaven has had some good runners from across the pond before.
Peter Fleming of Scotland (not a Brit) was a sub 14 5k runner and a 2:13 marathoner who ran for LH back in late 80's. Earned X/C All-American honors, top 15 at Nationals.
I think the teams are pretty much evenly matched and the winner will depend more on who has a good day. I also think the type of course will have a big effect on the outcome. Haven seems to do significantly better on hilly courses considering they won psacs on the muddy hills of Edinboro without Zondlo and got 3rd with him on a flat course at regionals. Ship seems to excel on flat and fast courses as evident by their 3rd at psacs (without Beegle) and 1st (with Beegle) at regionals on the flat. They also run well on the track. Boro just stayed in 2nd regardless of the course.
All 3 teams return basically everyone. I think Boro is hurt the most with the loss of Lantinen who was 4th and 7th at psacs and regionals. Haven loses Pomerantz but fills that gap in with Getz so they break even. Ship doesn't lose anyone except Buck.
The most consistent team is Edinboro but I don't think they're good enough to beat either Ship or Haven when either team has a good day so I'd put them 2nd. 1st and 3rd is a toss up between Ship and Haven.
One thing that may change the way the regional and conference meets work will be the extra weekend in between now. Conference is a week earlier then in the past.
Anyone know what the course is like in St. Aug's?

yeah they're just gonna run the whole thing on the track.
Exactly. It's more interesting seeing a different team contend for nationals for once. Otherwise why bother fielding the other 10 PSAC teams ever? It's like having ten Pittsburgh Pirates franchises
After all the banter, the jabs, the smack-talk; I realize that it's all in fun. There was a crash of XC runners in Cal. that left three dead. Makes me think, wow, I would be crushed to hear about this in our PSAC. Sorry to be a little deep but I love you guys!
There hasn't been much talk on this thread as of late...so I will break the silence. Men and women of the PSAC, don't put that poison in your body if you want to have a shot at the title.
Looks like the PSAC may finally bring home a top ten finish for the men this year.
The only way that someone from the region will bring home a top ten finish is if they wear a deeper V than the rest of the teams in the country.
is ben hahn running in the psac this year or did he finally realize that edinboro isnt a good running school? unless you consider running 120 mile weeks all summer and peaking in october, then binge drinking until next summer rolls around, good....
bump.
What's up? How are our teams doing?
