I'm thinking the 5k was not marked correctly by the runhigh guys, maybe even the mile.
Perhaps Mike Rohl or someone from Mansfield would like to come on here and comment how everyone in the race had such a dramatic positive split.

its called everyone, just about every year, goes out way too hard at regionals. i was there and those splits are right on the money for what i saw.
Those first mile splits were on the money from what I was seeing. There were plenty of guys sucking wind and wishing for a slower pace!! Either way it was flat and fast and windy at the start!
The splits are correct. One of my guys put the mats down at markers not the run high guy. The course is marked every 400m + the odd 1k splits. I measured the course using a Gandy wheel and the markers are the green metal signposts that I, Mike Gray and a couple of my jumpers pounded in. I assure you the ones Mike pounded in were not coming out.
The race went out very hard and the first mile is very open with broad turns not a lot to slow one down on at all.
That said the race was really impressive to watch. A lot of guys and gals laid it on the line that day and I am glad I got to see it.
So who is gonna come up big this week at Nats? lets hear some predictions...
Which men's team will come out on top and will they get another bid for next year?
who will be the top individual and how many all americans will the psac get?
How high can ship ladies score? poduim?
My guess is:
Ship 7th with 245 points
Boro 8th with 266 points
hahn- all american (top 15)
hilton- all american (top 20)
beegle- all american (top 25)
mugen- all american (top 25)
random ship guy(rissel, schelander, gillette)- all american (35-40)
random boro guy (lantinen, anderson, mclaughlin)- all american (35-40)
hopefully this will be the year that the psac goes to nationals runs well for a change, teamwise, instead of embarassing the conference.
I think ship girls will have an off day, taking 7th, but neely will outkick pixler down the homestretch.
just my predictions... lets hear yours..
congrats to everyone who ran at nats! now that xc is over who ya got in what event for track?
Th PSAC blows now. 12th and 14th in the country is the best that can be done. It is a crap conference getting crushed by the western schools. Any pride out there?

At least that's a step above 16th and 19th from last year.
12th and 13th is better yet dipshit! Most likely you weren't there and neither was I. My psac representatives were challenged on a super tough course and ran with the best of D2. The temp was 70 and the course killer from what I here. The fact that many of the top teams prefer to go with non-americans (top 5 runners all kenyans and quite a few others after) may skew the western team scores. Take out all foreign athletes and how would things change? I can understand the Kenyans need to better their lives with a college degree and help their families, so I would never bust on their efforts. The African have a knack and a body type for running. Don't bash the folks here in the states that do their bests!
With Ship and Boro returning most if not all runners next year,in addition to redshirt freshmen chomping at the bit to run....they WILL be a force next year and beyond.
If you took the top runners from PSAC and form a team, they still would not place in the top 5 at Nationals.
Clark won Run for Diamonds, Blood second

Keep on whining buddy. Please do make more excuses. Everyone ran the same course under the same conditions and the PSAC go WHOMPED on!!!
Is the PSAC really filled with such babies as you? Ohhhh it was to hot and the course was too tough and there were too many Kenyans and..... ????
Hey just say it. The PSAC is all about excuses. That's coool.... and honest. Just what I thought. No pride.

Dude, your boys got crushed. Top PSAC guy over a minute off the winning time. Only 2 in the top 50 and 5 in the top 70 (one of whom is a Kenyan)? C'mon? How do you defend that? They sucked hairy balls.

Here we go. Top 5 PSAC finishers:
25 423 Nick Hilton JR Lock Haven 9:03 22:19 32:10.6 5:11
33 422 Hillary Mugun FR Indiana (Pa.) 9:16 22:32 32:26.7 5:14
66 52 382 Ben Hahn JR Edinboro 9:08 22:50 33:02.1 5:20
67 506 Stephen Schelander SO Shippensburg 9:27 23:03 33:02.5 5:20
70 55 384 Chris Lantinen SR Edinboro 9:15 22:45 33:07.9 5:20
Total is 261 for straight place excluding individuals. That would be 8th team. If they were all "team" and other individuals were excluded their total would be about 210. The "University of the PSAC" men would be no better than 6th.
Lame.

Not all conferences can be the best conference. There is only one RMAC.

Yes..all the distance runners are pussies in the PSAC. The Rock guys are the only ones that have any kind of competitive edge..
All the others make excuses, say "we did our best", or admits someone is better than them.
I dunno bout you, but I'm a collegiate athlete because I want to be the best. I train for a purpose, and that is to WIN..not "better myself"..why the f*ck are you wasting your time if you know your never going to win..go join a runners club
This shit happens every year after nationals. The teams who don't make nationals come on and bash the teams that don't get them another bid. Look we trained hard knowing we'd have to go buck wild at Regionals just to make nationalsand we did that and got to the NCAA meet. That had been our main goal all season. We regrouped and prepared to give it a go at Nats, which we did as well.
For anyone who hasn't raced at nats, it's a totally different level the first time you're there and that combined with a season mainly aimed at Regionals (since there were 3 amazing teams and 2 bids) makes for a tough nationals race. When's the last time a PSAC team was top 8? I know Slippery Rock was 9th in 2006?
19 years ago Boro won nationals. Time for someone to make another run for it!

I assume you mean on the men's side, because your women were top 8 last year...in 2004 the boro men were 7th, the last time nationals was at southern indiana. LHU was 9th, just missing a top 8 place that year too.
