Hey, do you wear a thong like party boy? I bet you idolize the crap out of him (literally).

They party this year ... but when the team from 2-3 years ago they didnt. Because they were serious.
Been dere dun dat...
advice:
Don't make training goals, make racing goals; plan your training to support your racing, that's it.
Don't worry about pace of your entire run, just start moderated and finish strong on days you feel strong, and on days you don't feel it, just finish the run.
Run in morning as much as you can, just do it!
If 7 year old gymnasts can get up at 4:00 am then so can we.
You don't need a team to be the best athlete you can be.
Hell, I used to train with my competition, quite a bit. I could be running a workout with a guy on tuesday and racing him as hard as I could on Sunday. I know there are runners in Cleveland.
That whole team thing is a nice romantic idea, but all said and done; Racing is inidividuals competing with individuals.
Work didn't bother me, I could work 50-60 hour weeks and put in 120 miles. But, I have not been to a happy hour or out drinking after work in 20 years.
Don't listen to naysayers or pessimists; negative people suck, and they seem to be everywhere.
I always found time.
I have never been too sore to train, and I am not any more sore than I was in college. I have had that post-workout feeling every day since I was six years old and started doing pushups for baseball. The day it's gone is the day you are dead.
You don't need an indoor track or even an outdoor track.
You don't lose any speed in your twenties. I could still run sub 12 100 meters at 30 years old.
And don't use the word pain. Running doesn't hurt, racing doesn't hurt, it just requires concentration.
Just don't buy negative bullshit and don't convince yourself anything other that it can be done.
If you love to race, DO IT, and do it now. Time disappears in an instant, almost beyond belief.
And the final advice:
And there is nothing you can do now that you can't do at 40 years old, EXCEPT be a young athlete in his prime.
If I weren't at work right now, I would go for a run. That was a great post.
on a side note, we need to plan an alumni party, or at least hang out at the local brew pub (forget the name) for nationals... I was thinkin disco ball in the castle maybe???
word
in the same boat as bobcat i believe, with teaching and coaching, but platt's post just gave me a nice kick in the rear.
big bear, you gonna be at iup's homecoming this weekend?
Whoa, whoa, whoa! What on earth is an intelligent and inspiring piece of literature doing on this thread? There's no room for that kind of thoughtful and thorough reasoning around here.
Please return to comments about tight pants and the extremely exuberant homosexual tendencies that once existed. I miss the comments about asses and stankness.
Yours truly,
PSAC
Shelly will be top 10 in the conference.... don't forget, he posted up a 31:5x 10k last year at that very same course and walked away all region.
As for pre-nats, it should be crazy. Most of the PSAC along with some top national talent. Look for some fast times coming from Cooper's Lake this weekend!

Fast times arent ran at Coopers Lake
especially in this weather. anyone going to have results for paul short?
You know I'll be there... sitting around during my planning period waiting for my ride to get done teaching her last class so we can head on up... hopefully see ya there!
I know comparing different races is not accurate, but in this case it is accurate as it can possibly get. I am only posting this as a pre-conference indicator of what the womens race will look like between these 3 teams that races at Paul Short today.

also some good results from the guys side too. mclaughlyn and hahn(24:23, 24:27) looked strong. boro averaged 25:21 and ship averaged 25:50, but ship had 5 guys in before boros 4th. maybe they were missing people but there was a big gap, not sure what happened to their depth. beegle ran great for ship, (24:57) and they had a threesome of sophs in the high 25s, and neyhart closely behind who must still be getting his legs under him. one thing this race does tell us though is that mclaughlyn and hahn, possibly beegle with some improvements, are all national caliber. we will have to wait untill the hills of rock to find out who the real men are.
where are results from sru? anyone know...

~Regan is a beast, I heard he was just cruisin in the race...also Hilton and the haven boys came up big, i wonder if they had pomerantz running if they could have won the meet??? Yeh I don't understand IUPs new uniforms they look they more like sprinter tops then distance uniforms...great showing by the psac schools today!!!
No Sammy Chelanga is a beast. (23:05)
What Reagan did was run an average college runners race.
I give him props for winning the meet, but honestly, this guy is a good runner, not a great one.
How is that course compared to some others?
yeah according to ralph white the kenyans wear those type of tops in the marathons all the time.
The times looked fast today on this course....We spent 3 days rolling it so it was firm...We will do the same for regionals and nationals....Weiss ran in Asics 2130's and this was Kevin Dustins first solid week comming off an injury. When he is ready to roll he should run about 26 low on or faster at conference
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06

Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
