i hear ben giess, aka wendy, aka the big guy, is going for an olympic trials qualifier in the marathon in philadelphia in november, or maybe just something in the 2:40's. if he can stay away from buddy's burgers i think he'll be ok.

Looking back over this thread which goes back over two years I looked at who has been talked about most on here.
The question now is who had the best career in the PSAC? Who ended up being the most sucessful distance runner over the last 4 years?
Blood? Cummings? Pinto? Reagan? Weis? Straman?
Medina?
What I like about this, is that these are individuals. I kinda look at this like 80s Russian teams. What I mean is, you can pick out Blood from Lock, Cummings from Mansfield, Pinto from ESU, Reagan and Weis from 'Rock, Strauman and Medina from IUP. However, you can't (arguably) pick out one individual from Edinboro (like the Russians. There was just that 'sea of red'). To me, they seem like they've always had someone in xc to pick up the slack if someone was falling; whereas many of the other top teams had a good top 5, but needed all 5 to perform well to be in contension for things.
Just a random fact. Who had the most success? Geesh, you got me. So many things in there. Only one national champ in there, but so many other great guys.
The REAL question is: Who had the most exciting races to watch? Who was the performer, and not just the good runner?
PS: No Grey.
Also, he wouldn't have had to sit out, unlike his brother.
Have to throw Clark in there as well. Talk about improvement over a college career.
And I agree with the comment about Boro those guys had some awesome careers, but its hard to stand out when your whole team is beast.
What about women???
Blaesser and Sawtelle would be my favorites for obvious reasons, but I know there are a bunch more out there like Lanzel that for some reason I can't think of at the moment.
Medina? Wha-wha-wha-what?
who is going to be the next guy who belongs in that contention?
hanh or beegle probably both. no other good freshmen this year
Women: What about Rasatorie (I have no clue on how to spell her name)? Didn't she give Sawtelle a run for her money a few times? Stinks that one year they weren't both running because Sawtelle was having a kid. I remember the IUP coach being pissed about that.
my regional predictions...
1. gannon
2. mercyhurst
3. IUP

to this question I have to say that Iuri or Strauman had the most exciting races. Iuri in the 1500 and the mile and Strauman in the 800.
what you guys think?
Cummings in the mile indoors this past year. Crazy finish!
Most exciting races? Gotta be Strauman..finishes his career with a .02 second National Championship win. Doesn't get any better than that.

Anybody coming out to Eugene for the Olympic Trials? I'm planning on attending Friday (27th) and Saturday (28th) with Eric Shafter, 2x XC All American from IUP. Will be out the following weekend as well, but likely not with any IUP/PSAC'ers.
Give a shout if you'll be there...

Hoovis - Just sent an email. Will be in Eugene for the Trials. See you then perhaps.
Rascatore ( I don't know the spelling either, although I should) was very good, especially in the steeple. I left her out since she was not very recent, but still very beast.
Two other freshmen I would put in that group are Tim Getz and Nick Hilton. Both of these guys I feel had a strong year.
Yeah, yeah...T. Shea is in the House. That's awesome...can't wait to connect. Fleck

a guy with the potential to replace Straumann as 800 stud in the PSAC is Sean Craig, enrolling at Lock Haven this fall. He had a quiet JC year and has four years of track eligibility left. Didn't show much in HS due to questionable decisions by his track coach, but ran a 1:54 leg at states and has great natural 400 speed. also was a district XC champion
