clark ran 14:01
clark ran 14:01
i heard clark ran 14:01
blood could not win all three
Um as far as i know jackass he is the PSAC leader in the 1500, 5k and is 2nd in the 10k to weiss, so blood could destroy them all is he wanted to. The guy is a champ and trains hard, not like yourself who sits on the computer and beats off to flotrack videos, only wishing you could run with the best in the country.
hahah please your first sentence disproves your point since he is, yes lets pay attention and read carefully, 2nd to weiss. plus cummings would beat him in the 1500. am i disputing he trains hard? nah. but am i suggesting he could not possibly win all three at psacs? yes. and you dont know me so dont bother trying to assume thats im anything like what your description indicates
blood wouldn't win all 3 at conference
he would have to deal with weiss in 10k for sure
then blood has to deal with pinto, cummings et al. in the 1500. no easy task there. as he would have to make it a race or they would roll him.
5k there is a slew of talent there, and weiss wouldn't like to lose that race, especially if blood beat him in the 10k.
it would be no easy walk and probably not possible
The point is in any of those three races no matter which one he decides to run he is the favorite, He beat cummings in a fair race and that's it. He obviously backed that up with a another great performance of 14:02 which beat cummings by 13 seconds, so come on? Blood is the real deal and is the man of the PSAC.
He may have beaten Cummings, but that was by about 1 second. My guess, is that when you've got it on the line, Cummings always finds a way.
Yeah, you could argue about indoor nationals. However, I think with the two of them both seniors, both sitting out, it would be a GREAT race to watch.
My vote: Cummings this time wins by a second; with both hitting PRs.
Just my thoughts.
I, for one, would like to see Blood only run one race at PSAC's...either the 15 or the 5. I'd also like to see Cummings just run the 15. And, I'd like to see Weiss only run the 5 as well.
Point is, these guys are all very good and have a chance to do well at Nats. I'm hopefully they won't try and go crazy at PSAC's and will focus on the meet that truly matters. I worry about this, especially with Weiss given that the SRU team is always competitive for the overall title.
Hmmmm...just because Cummings lost to Blood by 13 secs in a 5K doesn't mean Blood wins a 1500. I think it all depends on how the race shapes up as to who wins. If somebody takes it out fast, I think Blood is strong enough to win in a sub 3:50 time. If Blood has to take it out fast himself and lead from the gun, I think it's 50/50. If the pace lags (3:51/:52) then I'd bet on Cummings.
In the 10K, I'd give the nod to Blood over Weiss irregardless of the pace. Fast -- I give it to Blood. Slow -- I give it to Blood. I think Weiss is a hell of a runner, but I just think Blood is at the top of his game right now...and, I don't have the same confidence about Weiss. I think he's very good...but, perhaps not quite as sharp as Blood.
In a 5K, with Clark out of the picture, I think this is hands down a Blood win. None of the 1500 guys (Cummings, Pinto, etc.) can move up and put pressure on him. I think Blood can expose Weiss some at this distance, but it would be a close race...with Blood opening up in the last 600 meters.
Anyway, my two cents...

i think between weiss and regan they could find a way to beat blood in the 10k or the 5k whichever they run at confrence
1500 has too many good guys that cummings and maybe one or two other guys could beat blood. especially since they would probbly know he is stronger then them and just sit back and if he wants to take it be able to slip by him at the end
any good performances today?
1500-cummings
5000-weiss
10,000-weiss
does anyone think strauman wont win the 800?
Hey Ship Alum and others from South Central PA. I'm going to be in the Elizabethtown/Mt. Joy area for a wedding this coming weekend. Wanted to know if you can provide any good long runs (13-15 miles) I could do.
I'd love to get over to Long Pine up above Caledonia and do a loop on Ridge Road, etc...but don't think I'll have enough time to get over there. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try the conewego rail trail right out of e-town. not super interesting but it is soft and has no cars.

i'm not incredibly familiar with the trails, but i know you can get a run of that length in at mt. gretna. sorry i don't have any other info than the place, except that it has a rail trail. haven't run there in a few years since i've been here at west chester.
As long as his hamstring holds up straumen is the clear winner
Teepee:Any great runs at Mt. Gretna. I can easily make it over that way, if there's a run worth the trip. Thanks for the suggestions.Hoovis

where is my place to sleep this weekend at IUP? Any awesome parties for friday night there?
PSACER...
If you find yourself bored, walk uptown to the bars. Go into Coney Island and ask for Moser, the bartender there. Tell him you run for some PSAC school other than IUP...
Then, early next week, come back here on the message boards to tell us about it. Should be fun/funny.
