the man on the far left, this is USATF
WHY DID HE DRESS LIKT THAT IS WHAT I WANT TO KNOW... DOES ANYONE KNOW HIM, does he always pull stuff like that.
Never heard of this guy, but found a short bio on him. Anyone know if he ran in college?
He's a regular poster here.
You'll hear from him soon enough.
Hesch certainly looks rediculous, but what is the story with the pair of distance running Stanford alums (Lunn, Riley) sporting those rediculous long tights? I don't remember California being dreadfully cold... almost equally unattractive, but Hesch certainly takes the cake. Those boardshorts look rediculous, he reminds me of a seventh grader coming back to school from Summer break.
and yet he still beat Pirah.
man are they so poor that they have to borrow shorts from their friends. Look that`s at least two sizes too big for him.
The funny thing is in any other part of society he would be the "normal" one while people would be making fun of everyone elses "short shorts"
Nike hasn't supplied Lunn with any shorts that fit right. Until they do, he will have to sport the tights. He is quite aware that they look ridiculous, but as long as he keeps running well...
Hey jus,
why dontcha post a photo of the shorts you wore at nationals so we can compare them to Hesch's and really get a good laugh at the guy.
duuuuude, those shorts are boooogus man...Whoa
Naaaaly Dude!!
Hesch appears to be a better runner than almost anyone on this board. I doubt baggy shorts are why the US is not all that good at distance running--the other guys have traditional shorts on afterall.
A few years back Driss Drach (Dracha or something similar) wore a pair of beach shorts in the San Fran marathon. Took second I believe. There had to be some major chaffing there.
the shorts i wore at nationals were gold/yellow short and made by dolphin...they were school issue
I Love It!
What if he would have won?
That would have been the best.
he Wears those shorts because he's gay, maybe?
Yup. You got it--says right here in the manual, "Gay men must wear blue shorts of exceptional length whilst competing in running events on a track."
Good call.
I met this guy at a triathlon, he was practiaclly a pro at 16 years old. To the best of my knowlege, he doesn't have a track team that he trains with like Nike Farm or Team USA. He just goes out, trains hard, and runs his 29 minute 10Ks and 3:40 1500s and kicks ass. When I met him, he was a really nice and humble guy.
