Is it OK? Or is it like the boxer's rule of "sex the night before a fight is no good"?

It is not the sex, but staying out looking for it that is tiring.
Now that was very funny.

Too bad it wasn't original.
Apparently its good for women to have sex before competition because it relases the testosterone in their body but its not good for guys. Could be interesting....
Seriously, how many runners ever get laid?
Excluding the married ones?
I thought it involved releasing testosterone in someone else's body.
Good ol' BisonHurdler. This is Scribreb from Dyestat.
Dave Wottle won a gold medal in the 800 while one his honeymoon. His coach didn't want him to bring his wife; but he did anyway. He didn't do well in the 1500 though.
Some of you might be surprised at my opinion here, but yes, DO NOT HAVE SEX BEFORE A MARATHON. In fact, do not ejaculate at all the entire week before.
I have gotten laid 3 times on nights before marathons (Rotterdam 2000, Bangkok 2001 and Singapore 1999), and all have resulted in poor performances and/or DNFs.

if you can have sex without ejaculating, have at it. if you consider the two to be inseperable, then don't. there is a lot of eastern "theory" on this. the best i can translate is that you have seven energy centers and each center takes seven days of not ejaculating to fill with energy. so the one at the bottom of your spine takes the first seven, then if it's still full the next one up will take until day 14 to fill, and so on until after 49 days you are cranking with energy! of course, one slip and you start over. i can only imagine how fast the high school kids might be if this line of thinking was taught. anyways, i went about 35 days keeping my spirit in me and my friend somehow went just shy of 50. both of us, and his girlfriend, could tell you that energy reserves and overall motivation are drastically effected by this. the best comparison i can think of to having sex is smoking a joint in that they both have a detrimental effect on your immediate physical output capabilities and the longer it has been since each the better you will perform.
Oh My Good God....but if you keep it in so long you take the chance that you might get hard about 15 miles into your run when even Oprah without makeup looks really hot....but why the heck is Oprah in front of you in a marathon anyways?
seriously though, there is some truth to legalizit's post. it is possible to orgasm without ejaculating and vica versa. this is how some men can be multiorgasmic when most men need a "refractory" period. well, they need it too but they just don't ejaculate multiple times. look it up somewhere if you don't believe me.
how about doing an experiment of obstaining for the week before the marathon and then at the halfway point relieving yourself...crash and burn? or just a mess?
i think the multiple orgamism thing is the way to go, read about how a man had 5 i thought being who i am that i could try and beat it, made it to 4, then i heard "u get ur workout in or what?"
---next day i couldnt believe myself on my run, i didnt race but i felt very strong and just ate up the hills easily
not creaming... all i got to say it is a waste of time. spent a huge amount of time having intercourse but it didnt cut it. its a bad nights sleep and i ran like crap, i felt totally drained and just didnt wanna even do anything
i went a week without it and i couldnt stand it, running was good but not a wow or anything. again i didnt race but my running wasnt something to think of as impressive.
climaxing 3 times a week is a must for health
Experiment:
Yesterday.
10 iron men were to masturbate and then take a one hour day nap. Yesterday they did 6 miles in 40 minutes.
Today.
They ran faster than yesterday and feeling much stronger post-run. They did another 6 miles in 36-38 minutes.
Sex requires more energy and movement spent, increasing high risk of getting uncomfortable feelings over the ligaments post-sex. Haven't done any experiment on this one.
Were those Asian women? Was there a control group involved?
sex triggers certain hormones n it's good for tommorow's race definately.
True. I never said "Now that was funny and original".
