Fact is most runners who have a prolonged bad patch (injuries/illness etc.) hang it up. Kudos to Weldon for staying with it.
You will often find that athletes who work very hard and have setbacks find themselves on the edge. I would think that wejo was desperate for a good performance and the hard workers who stick with through the tough times will usually get one.
