I'm wondering if anyone can provide some imput (possibly articles) on how much rest you should take at the end of a three season year. I've been training since last July, ran Cross, Indoors, Outdoors. Took about a week off between seasons, but have been racing on tired legs all outdoors basically (6-8 weeks). I'm done now and need a break, but how long? I had been suggested to take 2 months off, as I guess thats what kenyans do, but I need to build up a base (up to 85-90 mpw) and race again for cross come November-December (post collegiate). I was thinking 4 weeks. Too long? How do I build back up after that?
Also, what is your typical break between seasons?
