Many recommendations for easy runs based on HR or as a % of race pace would suggest that mediocre runners run extremely slow easy paces. I am wondering about the experience of people who have run at 11/12 minute miles or 7:30+ kilometers. For those who have done it, how did it work out for you? At roughly what pace did you start for your easy runs? Did you do it continuously or was that your average from a run/walk. What was your height/weight. Did you find machine work of use?
