He broke the "cardinal rule" (even NFL PED suspensions are only 6 games) yet is allowed to compete. Shows the NCAA has absolutely 0 teeth any more. The "fix college sports act" (whatever it's actually called) will fail.

I feel like the obvious way for this to end is Sorsby throwing a playoff game.

If that’s what it’s called, it might as well be the “unintentional irony act.”
Players who have been banned have been known to bet against their teams and themselves (to produce bad stats/hit unders). It really shouldn't be punished to bet for yourself to do good or your team to win because that doesn't compromise the results.
I think what saved this kid is he was just a typical degenerate gambler enjoying betting on the games but in no way compromised results with his performances. The jury/judge probably could relate and sympathize with him.

This is called insider trading. Markets are only healthy when they are fair and regulated. Letting individuals with insider knowledge wager on the outcome corrupts markets for those who are being honest.
What I don't understand is why this doesn't open the door for the FBI to investigate him, much like they are with Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups in the NBA.
I also don't understand why the judge suspended Sorsby 2 games. The federal courts are now handing out NCAA punishments?
It feels like we are living in an upside down world rn
People should be able to vote on themselves to win, Boxers do this on occasion

The guts of it from Ken Curry "prominent, imminent, and irreparable injury if not allowed to play for Texas Tech in 2026".
Of course Ken Curry didn't detail what the irreparable injury actually is.
What about the irreparable injury to Big XII football teams (other than TTU). Since this encompasses games outside of Texas, Big XII (not NCAA) should file its own suit in Federal court outside a Federal District in Texas.
Should all criminals file an appeal against jail time using irreparable injury argument.
And Sorsby did commit a crime within the NCAA.

No. Then all that will happen is that person will be working with someone on the other team to help them out.
Gambling ads everywhere .... gambling everywhere... couldn't imagine why this happens.
Muh judges have too much power, a lot of them are a clear and present danger to the United States. Too many bleeding hearts........
College football has become a farce.
