That's simply explained by Women's running not being as deep as the Men's side, both currently and historically.

Why do we do this on this board. An awesome day of racing where we have multiple great races and we have to compared apples to oranges. Cooper is 17. He still has a year of freakin high school left. He is also currently one of the best 800 runners in the world. Audrey Werro blew the doors off of fan favorite and reigning Olympic Champion with the 3rd fastest time in history. Both of them deserve all of the flowers. Why or how would you choose which of them was more impressive. Different races. Different circumstances. Different impressive benchmarks. Just enjoy it! Soon enough track could be boring again. Just enjoy that there are currently multiple amazing things happening in the same meet!!!

That and it's an American board. If there's a Swiss athletics board, Cooper's race will barely earn a mention.

Stunning of you.
And quite brave.
But sorry, a teen winning a DL event is bigger news.

Fun fact: the Swiss broadcast showed an interview with Joceline Wind (Swiss middle-distance runner, just finished 5th in the non-DL 1500) during the time the Men's 800 was running. Not even a split screen. The race barely existed in that broadcast.

I'm trying to enjoy both sides with replays and all I see are comments about how both are going to set World Records. Almost every comment has something about the future of these athletes. It may come one day but for now can we just celebrate for today.

It's the reality that Men's sports in general are more competitive and harder to be dominate in.
Women have OnlyFans. We don't pretend men should be earning as much as Sophie Rain as if that it's some unfair travesty she earns more like when wnba players somehow think they should be getting LeBron level contracts for playing basketball. This further proves these subsets only want "equity" when it benefits them and not a blanket or consistent level of integration.
