in hs we had to read the okonkwo book (some dei thing) and instead of coming out of it the way we were “supposed to” learning how independent and real of a pre colonial culture they had, i just came out of it with proof that they were savages (which IS a culture i guess). protagonist doing human sacrifice, chattel slavery, shooting his wife, etc
