The Official 2-26 NCAA D1 Outdoor T&F Championship Thread

Seeding for 800m and 1500m follow a formula as laid out in the championship manual.

Massive disparity in the draws. Mens 800m heat 2, womens 800m heat 3, mens 1500m heat 1 all way harder.

I understand the rule but while the W 1500s heats alternated the fastest and slowest regional places, the 800s did not with heat 3 getting almost all of the fastest regional places (ie fastest winner, fastest 2nd, fastest q). Heat 2 got the fastest 3rd and heat 1 got none of the fastest places. That is what I do not understand.

Which is consistent with your observation about W 800 heat 3.

Its because the two regions are seeded independently. Each semi will have four from east and four from west.

Seed 1 – Fastest Winner, West

Seed 6 – Slowest 2nd Place, West

Seed 7 – Fastest 3rd Place, West

Seed 12 – Slowest q, West

Seed 10 – Fastest q, East

Seed 9 – Slowest Third Place, East

Seed 4 – Fastest 2nd Place, East

Seed 3 – Slowest Winner, East

Semifinal B

Seed 2 – Second Fastest Winner, West

Seed 5 – Second Fastest 2nd Place, West

Seed 8 – Second Fastest 3rd Place, West

Seed 11 – Second Fastest q, West

Seed 11 – Second Fastest q, East

Seed 8 – Second Fastest 3rd Place, East
