i'm just wondering what some of you do 5-6 weeks out until marathon time to make sure you're sharp and fresh without losing the fitness gained in the previous 12 week build-up. i've done tempo runs up to 13 miles at goal marathon race pace, continuous hill sessions, several long interval sessions with short recovery, long runs up to 2:30 and the largest volume weeks of my life hitting 115, 118 and 123 miles at peak volume. i feel strong and fit, but i'm not sure how much i should be running and what kind of workouts to focus on to bring everything together on race day. my plan is to run a half marathon this weekend at goal race pace off of 100 mile week and one long interval session and one 25x1minute fartlek session and then to race the philly half next weekend after backing off next week. then up the mileage one more week to about 100 miles, followed by a 3 week taper with one more long hard tempo of 15 miles at race pace about 2 and a half weeks out. any suggestions?
