I swear I'm gone! Never again. An insult to one of the greatest ever, who did nothing but post supremely well.
Of course, in 5min these posts will be gone.
I'm ashamed to be a letsrunner.

Skuj, why is everything either about you or an insult to you? Leave the drama at home. It appears there's some kind of database issue to be addressed. Let Wejo figure it out.
really? how do you know? been following all with interest, but the regular deletions and now many pages gone = bad.

It's not about Skuj, it's about Babe Freaking Ruth, back from the dead. If Babe is insulted and confused then this thread has been completely mishandled.
These kids have no idea what they tripped over.
If they revived Pre I would be barely interested contrasted to this thread.
To Skuj,
Skuj, the question you always wants me to answer about north America running has been answered to day by letsrun.com
Thank you skuj and God bless you.
Henry
I understand a lot of posts have disappeared from this thread.
My apologies. It appears to be some sort of database error.
I have tried repairing the database to no luck (that is why the database was down today).
So the posts that are missing will be permanently gone from what I can tell.
From the number of complains I received I see this thread is quite popular. I may have to start reading it regularly myself. It is an honor to have Henry Rono discussing his training on our site.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Happy Running,
Weldon Johnson

Thanks
At least we know what has happened, appreciate your note here.
Chris
Thanks Wejo.
I spoke with Henry on the phone this morning. I suggested to him that we start another "Henry Rono training for masters mile record. PART II" thread and continue the thread from there so that things like this are prevented. He agreed.
I have started a new thread with a link back to this thread. If you want to continue discussions on this thread just copy over to the new one, or link back to this one.
Please move it over to the new thread (link below).
Back in the 2005/2006 time frame when Henry Rono was trying to get into the master's scene, I had the pleasure of racing in a number of the meets he was entered in for masters' races. At the time I remember Henry trying to get back into sub 6:00 mile shape and he stated his goal was to try and eventually run a sub 5:00 again and I myself was chasing the once impressive not anymore Sub-4, Mile. Most of the meets he was at I think he was running in the low 6's and I was stuck between 4:00 and 4:05. He was always a friendly guy and very motivational to all of the athlete's field or track and the meets. Today 72 is still a young age to pass most still have another 15 to 20+ years to look forward to sorry to hear your time was cut short.
Rest In Peace Henry and condolences to your family and friends!
Man, this thread takes me back. Henry was good about keeping us up to date on his training, which included an unusual amount of saunas.
RIP to a legend.
