Debate is a good thing and this board provides much opinion and information. Over the past few months, I have observed a general negative tone about US running. To synopsize, here is the general feeling expressed by Let's Run posters:
Webb-undertrained, peaked at 18
Ritz-overtrained and injured thanks to Wetmore
Regina-doper, coached by poodle
Teter-the new Regina
Suzy-head case
Broe-a god in April, a loser by June
Krum-Wow! Oh wait, he's coached by sketchy Brazillians
Kennedy-washed up
Goucher-has been
Gabe-one race wonder, hits the bong, too much Phish
Hansons-road whores
Farm Team-whiners
Oregon Project-weird science
Race Directors-shameless profiteers, anti-American
USATF-inept bumblers, PR flaks
Is it any wonder why the sport is not more popular? It's most ardent fans bash its rising stars and stalwarts. Here's a challenge: reply to this post or begin a thread on what's right with the sport and how we can make it and our performances better. Let's see some positive energy for a change.
