Hocker had the primo spot - on the rail and in front - with a lap to go, then he let half the field pass him and block him in. That was dumb.
Strand spent much of the race in lane 2 at the back. There's no good reason to run in lane 2 if you aren't passing or in a crowd at the front. Hopefully, he learned a lesson from this.

He knew that before the race and suffered a brain fart. Every runner is told to run on the rail as much as possible and for unknown reasons, he didn’t do so. It’s not because he isn’t as experienced in racing as your average LRer.
