they're obviously a sprint school. edit: they took 16 people to regionals. not bad! Tom Flood is the head coach, Shayla Houlihan is the cross country coach - I'm assuming that's Shelby's sister. Maybe an up & coming running school!

Birnbaum looked really good in his heat. finished second but just sat on the inside and cruised. it was a slow heat which had to have pleased him as he's doubling in the 5K

2:19 for the first 800m in heat 2 of the 1500m! We have got to train these guys to not be so completely petrified of pushing the pace that they are willing to jog at 4:40 pace in a college regional.
One big result in the West Region 1500, Indoor All-American miler Ronan McMahon-Staggs from Washington didn’t even advance to the regional finals! Just missed out on the big Q. This is the beauty of the regional qualification format. Don’t know why this isn’t the way all divisions do their postseason.
Anybody know why the 100's have been so... slow?? it took 10.29 to make it to this meet, and only 7 people were under that time today. With little to no wind as well, And don't tell me they were going easy because so many 10.2 guys ran 10.6 today. huge difference
In the women's sprints South Carolina's JaMeesia Ford could put Abby Steiner's NCAA record of 21.80 (21.77 in the post season) under pressure. Ford has a a 22.01 (+1.9) this season and is currently #3 in the world. In the 400, Georgia's Aaliyah Butler could threaten Nickisha Pryce's record of 48.89 if she has a good day in either the regional or championship.
JaMeesia Ford is an interesting sprinter. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of her performances this year.
On the Men's side, Anthony is the only one who looks interesting.
Just a Sidenote Ford won SEC in the 100 and 200 and was part of the Winning both the in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 she also regularly runs under 50 in the Relays with a best of 48.86 (Identical to Aaliyah Butlers best 400 Split which Butler ran last week in the SEC's) Ford And Butler could be PRO If they want to be, but Butler is a Junior and Ford a Sophomore and both like their team, so maybe they stay in College until eligibility is up.
For Fords 48.86 split, Look at #48 on the Indoor All Time List.

Looks like Leo Young nipped him by 0.07 seconds to get the last Q, running his last 400m in 53.13 vs. Ronan’s 53.22.
