Last instagram post was from Sept. 2024. Seems like he has really given up the social media BS. Good for him! Also, a 17-year-old girl has completed the seven summits? That's one hardcore rich kid.
so, the first thing he did when he reached the top was post to letsrun?
2nd tourist fatality on Everest of the year happened yesterday, a climber from India.

It appears it is a father/daughter team. The is pretty cool considering I still think I am great for taking my daughter to 11 Daddy/Daughter dances without missing a single one. When I asked if she wanted to go to the 12th, she said, "Boring."
Conner Mantz ran sub 4, set the 1/2 AR, and redpointed 5.14c. As a runner and a climber, I find that far more impressive than a guided trip up Everest with supplemental oxygen.

Nothing more than a wealthy tourist trip. Congrats for sticking with the training and handling the altitude, I guess. We need to be honest though, none of these people are mountain climbers. They are not setting ropes or carrying their gear. What is next an Ironman so he can get a tatoo?
I wonder why are you still single

Rock climbing and extreme altitude mountaineering are two completely different sports.

I think you’re significantly underrating the pure hate with which Symmonds summited. While he did look fairly relaxed, the seething hatred behind his goggles and oxygen mask was palpable to those he blew past on the final ascent to finish just outside the top 3. Some are saying he scrapped his crampons for Rexing’s old trainers to make it through the icefall in record time.

Are you thinking of Hobbs Kessler? He climbed a 5.14c, I think. I've never heard of Mantz as a climber.
Agreed that 5.14c is a superior athletic accomplishment compared to climbing Everest. The chief barrier to Everest is accepting the chance that you might die due to unavoidable problems like weather and crowds.
Living his best life
It appears that Symmonds may be back at Base Camp, assuming he was with CSS Western Guided Team.
Okay... there's been almost 13,000 successful 'ascents' and under 2,000 sub 4 milers. One is a lot more impressive than the other.
It's still an athletic achievement but as other points random kids have done this. You don't have to have talent, anyone can probably do it. The rest is luck... and money.
Now he needs to climb Annapurna and K2.
That would be impressive.
Or the Matterhorn.
500 deaths in 160 years of climbing the thing.
How long has he been offline? Did he hear about Aman getting busted yet?
