You are preaching to the choir. Where can you still buy the discontinued racing flats?
I have been using Nike Rival Waffle 6 XC shoes which were designed for HS cross country. Stack height of 17 with zero drop. No goofy wide toe box. Could be a great and more accessible shoe if Nike added touch more stack (22mm as you say) and width. Right now I only use them on grass and gravel
