12 minutes? Sound like (almost) walking. That woman in the picture is a 4 at best. I run relatively fast, run a lot at the gym on the dreadmill. Love it. Lifetime Athletic. A couple months ago a then 20 year old young woman started talking to me, she's a runner too. She was very impressed with my running. I'm much older than her but she seemed interested. Dinner. Then cooked her dinner at my house. Then breakfast! Good times. 21 now. On the roster. She isn't after my money, she comes from money. Has a job, did college online. Skipped the Loser La La Land professors and getting ran-thru at college. 8.5, she brings me a lot of happiness. 12 minutes wouldn't have gotten me here. :)
Still trying with the StevetheAddict stuff, are we?
I can't imagine how bad your life must be if he's the person you most want to be like.
Lonely Runner: “I’m a sad and lonesome man that has never known a woman’s touch. Porn and cam girls are a poor substitute for real love. Please! Help me!”
Scientist: “Good news! When you see an attractive woman at run club or in the park, slow down to her pace and strike up a conversation. About a 12 minute mile should do it. She will find you charming, athletic, and interesting all at once! It’s very gentlemanly in a world where such men are scarce.”
Lonely Runner: “WTF?! 12 minute pace?! I have a Turkey Trot in six months and I can’t slow down from double lactic tempo threshold critical velocity pace just to chat up some chick!!! F** You!!! I’m a Romeo level spender on Live Jasmin and doing just fine, thank you! I’m not slowing down to cuckold pace. What would the other lonely fast incels think? Totally going to Let’s Run to denounce this nonsense! Better to be a lonely bro instead of compromising to get a hoe! They all just want money anyway! Joe Rogan and Andrew Tate both say…”

But you are doing all your running at the gym on a treadmill. That's kind of similar to running 12 minute pace. Get outside!

It is not easy being sub elite. I refuse to go slower then 8 minute mile pace(can't help being sub elite). Girls are not giving me any respect. Usually when I see a bunch of girls I sprint past them and make myself look as relaxed as possible so that they think my sprint is really like a marathon pace. Then if I ever approach a girl running I slow down to her pace and she doesn't appreciate it even when I compliment the fukk out of her. I've tried every trick in the book. I've run with a shirt that says Armani on it. Once I emptied my bank account and ran with all the money in my hand and pretended it drop it when passing a bunch of girls sitting on the grass and I heard them laugh at me, so being a rich runner isn't an option. I have pretended to get hurt by falling(controlled drop to the ground) in front of them and shouting ooow my leg) but that has failed too.
Sadly us runners are destined for failure unless you are Bekele or something. If only we had talent for another sport.
All the responses are humorous, and I get it. But legitimately, 12 min pace is probably a bit slow. But 10 min pace is always a good pace to run and get to know people, maybe even fall in love a bit.

You must be the most pathetic man on this site or at least in the top 5. Congrats it isn’t easy to be that high on this site.
Quite plausible if you had to pick one number for the general population. It’s right around the transition point where it’s more economical to jog than to walk.
Good point, or alternatively walk/jog gets you there
In college, a romantic interest told me she had like running, so I proposed we run together, and when we did, I slowed down to what I thought was a good comfortable pace for just about anybody: 9:00/mile. Turns out, that is not at all some random person who says they like running’s comfortable pace. She was wheezing and she had to drop out and then that date didn’t go very well. Point is, a lot of casual runners are slower than you think.
likewise, in the big track club in Brooklyn I am part of, the gender split is almost even, but in my faster group, almost everyone is male. That’s a trade-off and it’s OK, but definitely if I slowed down, I would talk to more women.
