I'm considering getting an under-desk eliptical...that should add a bit of benefit too. Why not.

Dad fitness is real! Random bouts of playing with my kids throughout the day definitely helps keep a higher level of fitness. Its amazing what 15 minutes of basketball here and 15 minutes of soccer there does to help boost fitness.

Before he retired, Nick Willis did a few podcast interviews where he talked about all the strength and mobility benefits he got while playing with his kids: skateboarding, playing soccer, swinging on the jungle gym, etc. I tried to find one just now and saw that his social handle describes him as the "backup point guard on the Very Nice Track Club rec basketball team." Which is the most Nick Willis thing ever.
My friend ran a 1:12 half marathon, his PB, after several months of
coaching his kid in soccer and pushing his son in a jogging stroller in Golden gate Park in San Francisco. No real workouts.
I ran my 10-mile PB after doing easy winter running with the occasional steady state or spontaneous tempo. Just running fast when my body felt like running fast and playing some pickup soccer.
Sometimes, good results come from not doing too much and staying fresh
