Dion Marquise Hayes for the win if he takes a break from trapping and bothers to race these scrubs. He doesn't even need EPO to win a major like most of the pro runners.
Seeing the elite women's start is a real reminder of the difference between a mixed pace field and women's-only. They look like such a tiny group to be spread out over 26 miles...
55 degrees Fahrenheit and sunny, 1 mph wind as the women's race begins. Really gorgeous spring Sunday in London. I'm sure the marathoners would appreciate a bit more cloud cover, but still good conditions for racing. Should get up to about 62-63 degrees by the finish.

Boston?
Ha, my bad! Still got Boston on the brain, obviously.
Speaking of wheelchair coverage, the commentary just came on my Flotrack live stream and the wheelchair race was more tolerable with no one talking about it.
Top four women -- Tigst Assefa, Megertu Alemu, Joyciline Jepkosgei, and Sifan Hassan -- are through 5k in 15:34, which is 2:11:15 pace. The first 5k is significantly downhill but that's still a lot faster than the initial pacing aim (2:15:00 pace).

A bit of a shame only 4 possible winners. Needed some of those sub 2.19 types to fill the gap to a chase pack
