Hi, I am a sophomore in highschool and planned on running a 17:30 5K this fall, and to help our team make states. However, I am have tendinites in my knee, because I apparently grew a lot over the summer and my muscle didnt grow as fast as my tendon, or vica versa. Anyway, I was told by the trainer that this is a common thing that happens to athletes, and that since it isn't tender that its nothing to worry about.
But I am worrying. I don't know how much time to take off. A week, 2 weeks, a day? Ice it, don't ice it? I don't want to aggravate it, but I trained too hard over the summer to stop now!
