This you would live to regret. Maybe the women should not marry a competitive male runner either. So this may be more about the type of personality who competes in running.

Exactly. Even you could tell I was too smart for that.
This reminds me of something I saw on Twitter recently saying don't marry an educated woman with a great job.
Too many insecure, weak men....no wonder there are so many incels!

Exactly. There are a lot of weak men who probably female runners. You nailed it.
OP is just disgruntled because there are a lot of women faster than him. I ran under the women's distance WRs by the time I was a freshman in, but OP still trying into his 30s... sad sad sad.
OP must be real slow wrote:

I guess so. I didn’t get under the women world records until college.
I'll give this to OP, as I read the title i was definitely thinking male runner's who compete would be just as bad. And then op covered that.
i can imagine how it would be difficult to manage. I have friends whose entire lives seem to revolve around run training, marathon trips, etc. Some of them seem to be in great marriages, while others look kind of miserable (this is how marriages are in general, right? some good, some bad)
Anyway, i think if you're getting yourself into that situation, you probably already know before the day of the wedding. you can either happily balance it or you can't.

NGL, in all the long-term relationships I've seen between competitive male and female runners, at least one of them looks like a doormat.
Even as a hobby jogger in 5Ks and Parkruns?

That is an exception because that is not really competing. Those women are desirable potentially as mates.
Halls and gouchers were both competitive and marriages worked out.
I do not date runners because I do not like their body type.

And most importantly, they have nasty feet
I really hope you’re just a troll, OP.
If not, it’s one thing to embarrass yourself in a single post. It’s another thing entirely to keep coming back for more.

Exactly. Those are two different things, not in kind but degree.

no game and no taste. I married a woman who is more accomplished than me in running. I can live with it because i think too big picture I guess but everyone is different.. Promise you a real woman isn't truly going to care about the running accomplishents by th time you're married and especially well after being married.
-and the body type comment from someone else is so short sighted(I still get where you are coming from for initial attraction). I'd much rather a woman who is fit and works out than one who isn't and will only decline. She should want the same too honestly. Trust me even the good runners aren't aiming to be an elite runner their whole life...
Don't marry a female period. Roster or GF is the only way.
