you have to really twist this to pretend armstrong was correct in his comment. im sure the race went worse than any of the family ever expected, but it remains that filip said it is 50/50 that jakob would even finish.
As far as Gjert's comments, well ya, i'd still put money on Jakob being sub 60 HM shape on a normal date. I think he was just at the point of season where he was cooked. Even his 1500 win a day or two prior was kind of mediocre for his standards.
There is analysis of his training out there somewhere that shows he was completely DE-LOADED by the time this race came about. To a ridiculously low level for him.
Even Grant Fisher bombed out on his final 3000 of the year with a 7:49. Sometimes when your season is done, it's just done. That's where Jakob was in his training cycle.
So Gjert's comments are still reasonable, and Filip's comments before the race were actually quite prescient.
I have no problems with your analysis here. My point, however, is that other posters have a right to have opinions that differ. Also from what I think.

everybody has the right to their own opinions, but when a poster goes out of their way to be one of the most abrasive and combative posters on the website, you won't find many to quibble over whether they're lying, just wrong, or otherwise.
And I won't call him a liar. But I'll defend the right of the guy who opined that he did.
It appears I got the wrong relative. It was his father not Filip. Here is the thread it was in:
"Father of Jakob Ingebrigtsen believe Jakob could run a half-marathon under 60min under an interview lately"
You got everything wrong as usual. That is nothing like saying he is "loaded".
It was saying how phenomenal his distance abilities were based on his training. "Loaded" is simply more succinct. But it is still the biased twaddle coming from his family. What else are they going to say? His training won't be helping him? This is a place populated by children.

It's not biased twaddle. It's knowledge. Look at the first post on this page. Your petty insults only show you have nothing else. You don't understand training.
I think I use the word lies because I learned that it was the english word for such cases when people stray from telling the truth. And in doing so he is attempting to paint someone in a bad light, which makes your response curious.
Even in the link you posted Filip says that in worst case he wont make it to the finish line. How is this the same?
What exactly is Armstronglivs valid point here?
Armstronglivs's valid point is that Filip (and Gjert, and Jakob, and a lot of others) prior to the current Filip interview (about the coming 2025 season) have claimed things about Jakob that have back fired. But contrary to Armstronglivs I think Filip this time may very well be right, but that doesn’t make Arms a liar -he is entitled to have opinions that not everyone shares.
Oh dear, you have consigned yourself to the wilderness there.

Isn't it nice to have ONE person on your side? Your little echo chamber.
If you had read the post you’d have seen it were predictions for the rest of the year.
Of course - that is obvious. But my point is predictions have been made about him in the past and they haven't come true. That is the problem with predictions; they aren't facts.

Filip was setting up an excuse. That's an Ingebrigtsen trait; talk him up and then come up with an excuse if it doesn't work out. I expect plenty of excuses this year.

We all expects thousands of posts from you on Jakob threads this year. Actually, on over 2000 posts already, you are well on your way.
I'm expecting that you'll soon be arguing he was "sick". Why would he have entered an incredibly demanding race if he wasn't properly fit? Is his vanity so great he thought he could succeed on poor preparation and fitness? Probably.

It doesn't bother me. But it shows it bothers others what I think.

They are his family, who he has been coached by and trained with, for goodness sake. What else are they going to say?

Because even being sick he may medal. Why are you so concerned with a professional athlete's will to compete?

Like in Copenhagen, they may make cautious statements.
