Hard to think of anyone dumber than people who talk about "chemicals in food". You don't have the slightest clue about what you are talking about.
Sodium Fluoride is FDA approved "in safe amounts". That doesn't change the fact that it's a neurotoxin. Same idea with food dyes. Theres a reason why they're banned in Europe and Canada.
Playing it safe by avoiding chemicals and sticking with healthy foods is the opposite of being dumb.
The dude is a huge talent, but he needs help with his nutrition. It’s hard to watch his video promoting Rice Krispie Treats and Fruit Snacks. These things don’t help him at all, he’s putting food dyes and chemicals in his body and doesn’t understand what he’s saying.
This is what’s in Fruit Snacks:
FRUIT PUREE (GRAPE, PEACH, ORANGE, STRAWBERRY AND RASPBERRY), CORN SYRUP, SUGAR, MODIFIED CORN STARCH, GELATIN, CONCORD GRAPE JUICE FROM CONCENTRATE, CITRIC ACID, LACTIC ACID, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS, ASCORBIC ACID (VITAMIN C), ALPHA TOCOPHEROL ACETATE (VITAMIN E), VITAMIN A PALMITATE, SODIUM CITRATE, COCONUT OIL, CARNAUBA WAX, ANNATTO (COLOR), TURMERIC (COLOR), RED 40, AND BLUE 1.
Is someone going to tell him ?!?!?!
Lactic acid does not generally improve performance in endurance sports
this thread is fine and shouldn't have been deleted.

No wejo. The OP is full of ignorance and false information. The thread should have been deleted. It's dumb. Kessler is consulting with two expert scientists. Lets face it, wejo, neither YOU nor the OP has a background in science.
Geoff Burns, a USOPC physiologist and elite ultrarunner. Burns, who earned his PhD in kinesiology from the University of Michigan, has known Kessler since his days as a high school star in Ann Arbor, Mich., and often consults with the inquisitive Kessler on aspects of his training.
“…The crux of that is carbohydrate availability. Carbohydrates are king. Essentially the dialogue then became, honestly, if nothing else, just prioritize getting in carbohydrates, at a minimum, after every run, immediately. People talk about, say, a 30-minute window or whatever. I’m more of a proponent of a 5-10 minute window. Literally as soon as you stop your watch, you need to have a plan for getting ample amounts of carbohydrates in your body.”
“There is a lot of research on getting sugar immediately after training spiking your insulin levels, which actually improves recovery,” says Maddie Harris, a former University of Colorado runner and registered dietitian specializing in sports nutrition for endurance athletes. “It actually improves muscle glycogen storage, so you’re better at refueling and storing those carbs where they need to be post-training.”
Burns and Harris are two experts. The OP is not, he is a child. If he had a point he would put his name to his posts, and also cite his credentials. Wejo., you know why he cannot do either.

Malmo you are looking at this through the prism of athletic performance, as is Burns. There is a larger issue here potentially, and that is long term health. Virtually none of us, certainly including Burns and yourself, can say with certitude what impact those foods, when regularly consumed, might have on long term health outcomes, and there is nothing wrong with having that discussion, instead of shutting it down due to your predilections and whims.

Kessler's goal is to win medals and break records right now, not to be an immortal.

So what? How is that relevant? If you are not Kessler, how would you know? Maybe he wants to be healthy?

Yeah Hobbs looked clueless in that video. telling people he discovered great recovery by eating RKT and fruit snacks is silly. He won’t have longevity and recovery eating that crap. But it’s more concerning that he thinks he’s healthy by doing so.
I guess you don’t need to be the brightest bulb to run fast. He’s got that going for him

He definitely wants to be healthy and successful, for sure. That's why he has nutrition and exercise experts on his team that are infinitely more qualified than you. Fruit roll ups and Krispy treats aren't going to do anything to him the long run. With his metabolism and caloric burn rate, he needs something immediately at the level he's at. Henry Rono was once such an alcoholic, he got wasted drunk the night before and ran a 5000 meter world record the next day. He lived quite a long time despite his bad habits. The kid will be fine.

He’s a typical 21 year old that thinks he knows everything. Most kids love he said that because now this professional runner just told them to eat junk with food dye and Rice Kristy Treats that are literally banned in some countries for the BHT, carcinogens and not to mention high fructose corn syrup, vegetable oil , TBHQ and BHA. to promote that’s is actually very harmful and irresponsible.

You actually don’t know what you’re talking about. He’s obviously not working with a real nutritionist.

Hahahahaha imagine saying this is a good source of nutrition. I’ll give Hobbs a pass because he was forced to be a professional pre mature because he turned pro out of high school. He does need better advice moving forward though.

If a nutrition expert is suggesting the Hobbs recover with snacks that are banned for other countries he needs to pay a little more for someone with real knowledge. Listen he is talented but not getting good nutrition advice. I remember Steve Jones smoked cigarettes and ran well, but we know how harmful cigarettes can be for you. In the long run these bad habits will hurt hobbs more than help him. There is a reason we say “young and dumb”

Steve had an excellent career fueled on a diet of meat pies, Coca-Cola, and Mars bars. In addition to killing 5 or 6 pints of cider the night before a world record on one occasion. Again, Hobbs will be OK in the long run.

You might be right that Hobbs will be OK in the long run, but you are not smart enough to know this, and so you come across as uneducated. In the long run, as Keynes said, we are all dead. So you sound sort of ridiculous.

ya, there are animals out there, this guy is one.
toping up with rice snacks with an overall good diet is fine.
people that over obsess don't do well, and people that don't pay attention to diet do even worse.
85% proper, and 15% whatever is probably best, and in so called naughty 15%, there is probably nutrition in there that is missing anyway in that healthy formula.
the thing about these super human animal type people, and i had a wonderful friend, that could break all the rules, little sleep, party, lots of booze, all the time,
the party went on into his late 50s, what fun. myself, i would take it in smaller doses,
then these people hit the wall, and suddenly go down hill, die. i know several.
this is the peter best type story my buddy.
people live 10 times more than average.
it's not pretty at the end.
hard to call it a tragedy when there were 10 out of 12 chapters in the novel that were great and the last 2 suck.
