"There are a lot of fast runners in NYC, it's just that most of them don't run the Corporate Challenges. Try a Club Championships race if you want to see faster people."
The Club Championships were a couple of weeks ago and all of those "fast runners in NYC" got taken out to the woodshed by the runners from NJ and Westchester. I'm looking at the results and it looks like 3, maybe 4, of the top 20 were from NYC. Carol Howe ran the Unattached race all by herself and would have beaten most of these supposedly "fast" guys from NYC. It's about time that people come to realize how dreadfully bad running has gotten in NYC. It really is amazing how a pool of several million people, with several 1000 of them training their asses off, can produce such terrible runners. Is there any place in the US with this many people running so slowly?
