Graham Blanks strikes me as more of a 5/10K guy. A 7:30 or better from him would be both shocking and mean he’ll be extra dangerous in the 5K this year.
I think 7:33ish sounds right, give or take a second and change
Blank's 5000m pr of 12:59 is 7:47-48 pace for 3k. His 1500m pr is 7:12 3k pace. To run nine seconds slower per 1500m from his pr (3:36) is what it would take to run 7:30. Grant Fisher did 3k at a pace (3:41/1500m) only 7+ seconds slower than his 1500m pr, and then he ran 5000m at 7:38 3k pace, which is 3:49 1500m pace. So, he slowed down just over 15 seconds per 1500 to 5k, compared to Blanks's 13 seconds. That would suggest that Blanks is either not quite maximized at 5000m, having won that race, or that he has a bit better speed decay than Fisher at present. Or to put it another way, if Blanks drops the same amount/3k as Fisher in going from 5000m to 3000m, he would run 7:33. I think he can do a bit better than that in this field. I predict 7:30.
How interesting. Addy Ritzenhein in the mile. She’s arguably a stronger 3000 runner.
Has she even been racing indoors? Not a peep about her all season compared to the top HS racers indoor and all of a sudden she's joining the entire OAC group in a race.
Jakob and Nuguse saw how Mondo was cashing in after every new incremental pole vault world record. Homies just exploiting that loophole to help fund a new epic gaming studio for when they are St. Moritz and playing Pokémon and Mario Kart.
Coffee Club says Yared is racing the BU mile and is chasing the mile WR and BU is bringing in wavelights for it (Mario has a connection apparently) . . .
Suppose that's a good reason for pulling out of the 3000 . . .

Would love to know what runners like Nuguse and Klecker will be doing with their lives once running is over - like in less than 5 yrs. Watching tv, and playing video games all day as grownups isn’t exactly conducive to honing a future career. Same with the females and their reality show binges all day. ( and checking out letsrun run threads so they can downvote negative comments about themselves)

Note #1 : Yared double entered in mile/3000. Rabbiting the 3000 after his WR attempt? Doubt it - likely a data entry error since Yared was originally entered in the 3000 only.
Note #2: Emily MacKay/Team New Balance Boston racing the 5000. Fourth @ USAs last week in 3000 w/fastest final lap. Has not raced a 1500/mile indoors this winter. Like Cole Hocker. Follower her closely this spring -- how well will all this endurance strength work translate to the 1500?
Note #3: First entry list did not include women's 3000 & 5000 races and only one heat of the men's 5000 . This meet has ballooned into a pretty significant event over the past 10 days.

Yared has a BS in biochemistry and a MS in Management from Notre Dame, and he's been vocal about wanting to pursue a career in dentistry when he hangs it up. Joe also is a biochem major. It's not like they've been academic slouches. And they'll both have decent money and ample connections from their running days to get a good start in whatever career they choose. Certainly they'll be better off than the average let's run bottom feeder.
