Well he needs to, can’t come out and say, look every one into the gills, I’m going to say it’s the shoes to get away with it plus I’m sponsored to say the shoes are great but really they don’t make a difference, I’ve changed the protocol of drugs i take after listening to Shelby and look her great ive done
It's funny how people can accuse people of cheating with no proof and to do it anonymously as Pre would say "just playing chicken shi-
More than happy to say he is taking performance enhancing drugs to him direct.
I would ask does he take EPO injection, the testosterone and growth hormones tablets at the same time. Or at different points in the week depending on sessions.
Im not sure anyone can’t see the shift in the US athletes performance post covid.
one thing it sure ain’t the shoes they are wearing
Grant having some joking fun and expressing modesty.
”It’s gotta be the person in the shoes” because everyone has access to shoe technology.
Um, it's actually a spoof of Mars Blackmon, a Spike Lee character who appeared in Jordan commercials. And in Lee's first feature-length film, "She's Gotta Have It," in which he wears his AJs while boning.

Sure you would tough guy.
I would love to see that. Grant Fisher would beat the snot out of you.
Why can’t it just be the shoes, plus the bicarb? As someone else pointed out, this is essentially a post-Covid phenomenon, coinciding with the advent of the new shoe era. I know they’re worth one second per lap for the high school athlete; I witnessed it, especially during the first year or two post transition.
Maybe they are worth only 0.5 sec per lap for the well trained professional, but, remember, they also allow these guys to train harder and do more quality work without totally destroying their legs. Add in the bicarb, and you’re at one second per lap, *minimally,* so 7.5 seconds over a 3000 and 12.5 over a 5000. Is that really so unbelievable? A 12:56+ from an uber-talented Grant Fisher before shoes/bicarb? That Cole Hocker really is just a 3:29-dude with an awesome kick? Because this is the reality if you are being honest and not a completely disingenuous dolt.

I mean it was acclaimed Kiwi, Nick Willis, who first offered the shoes were worth 2.5 seconds per 1500. Not my words, his. And there have been plenty of research papers to back it up, the efficiency gains from the shoes. Too bad Willis didn’t have these in his absolute prime.

That would be the testosterone that makes him aggressive…
When you're so old (me), you automatically assumed everyone on this thread immediately knew this was a riff on that late '80s Mars Blackman ad. I really am ancient. Jeez.

Honestly though, I don't think "they are all doping." And I'll tell you why.
When HS girls in California, boys down in Oregon, a Japanese marathoner, a bunch of randos from Scotland, a Notre Dame alum, all the kids on the local youth team, the NCAA athletes, my friends from work, and the pros in Flagstaff all start running much faster at the same time (2021-2025), there are only two explanations:
Either everyone is doping (except me) or...
The super spikes/racing shoes, starting younger, pro-level training, bi-carb, longer careers, faster running in practice (due to super-shoes), double-thresholds, faster recovery, maurten gels, better nutrition, seeking out flat/fast courses, better tracks, altitude camps, and a culture of "4:20 just isn't that fast" does give us 0.5% improvements... Add them up and yes, we are faster than the 1990s.
I think it is the second option. How could the first option be applied to all the groups that are improving (without me knowing about it). I am tangentially involved in the sport on many levels, so it would be weird if I never heard about it.*
* Ironically, the only people I know of who are "on something" are masters on T. Every other group in the sport seems to be getting a lot faster based on the twenty small changes listed above.
Michael Johnson is looking for innovative ideas. Robert Johnson should suggest this. It will absolutely be one of the more watched events. There are plenty of elite 1500 guys who he could pay to do it.
