Canada, the U.S, and Mexico will be one country in the future. It's just a matter of time. But it won't be because of conquest but because of mutual advantage and convenience. Canada and the U.S. can easily merge because of the similarity of their economies, language, and people. Regional autonomy is a key to any such extranational entities. Mexico's gap with the United States dropped sharply over a long period, and was reflected in lower immigration. Global warming will continue to prompt more development of Canada and its greater importance in global shipping, mineral resources, and military strategy.

Trump would give Canadians the same right to vote as Puerto Rico, so thats not an issue. The whole conversation makes us look less than exceptional shall we say. I feel worst for people who fought in the two world wars. What did they really fight for? We are no better than anyone else. I guess we always knew that, but it was nice when we could say we were at least trying to lead by example. I wouldn't send my kid to defend this country.

On their current trajectory, Musk and Trump will have us living in a surveillance state with limited speech and access only to curated pro-government information. Musk will also exert control via social credit ranking and his one stop banking/payments/social app.
If that comes to pass, then I would rather we be a Chinese colony. We would be oppressed just like Trump’s and Musk’s control state, but at least we would have 21st Century amenities. Our buffoons will build resorts in Gaza while our infrastructure crumbles and we get charged more for it.

At this point, the approval rating among men for the Democrat party is about 20%. And it’s safe to say that group isn’t a bunch of Brock Lesnars. 😂😂😂

Back to the original question: why is there a problem with annexing Canada? It's basically the same as asking: why is there a problem with shoplifting? There are two basic answers:
(1) Because it's wrong.
(2) Because you might get punished for it.
Humans have been arguing for millennia about which is the "real" reason most of us obey rules and laws. Up until recently, the trend was in favor of the first answer. But over the past decade the argument in favor of the second answer has begun to look a lot more compelling. In that view, the only reason not to do bad things to others is the fear that they might do worse things to you. So if you're confident you can get away with it, you go ahead and shoplift or invade other countries or whatever.
Personally, I still subscribe to the first answer, and find the increasing prevalence of people like the OP to be literally the saddest thing (not sad as in pathetic, but sad as in depressing) I've encountered in my life.
I mean, it's also a flagrant violation of international law. It's prohibition is baked into Chapter 1 of the UN charter: "All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations"

I would support Canada joining the USA as long as each province becomes a state. This would mean 20 more senators and about 40-50 of the Representatives would come from Canadian states. USA states would lose Representatives because we max out at 435.

The hilarious party about the whole discussion is it would shift out country to the left.
The real problem would be incorporating millions of new people into the US who have become accustomed to living off the government. All those socialists wouldn’t know what to do with their first doctor bill.
