Jakob´s 2022 season wasn´t very good. He might have been influenced as well.
I don't remember Jakob not having a good 2022...other than the WC loss to Wightman
It has remained his slowest season since 2019. Maybe could have had to do with other circumstances and variables/conditions surrounding races. It was also the first season away from Gjert.

Maybe he needed to adjust his training without Gjert? When you move away from a coach, you usually want to try out things you never had the chance, thinking that they will make you faster, but most of the time it's wasted time or a temporary boost (mostly mental?) before you hit a plateau and have to return to your usual grind.
Nice race by Filip, but he didn't win. Can't post results because unregistered and it would lead to an immediate ban, but he apparently got outkicked by Iceland's Baldvin Thor Magnusson (7:39.94).
Thank you for the correction. Who would have thought ISL would have a 7’39 man?!
hes english as they come (although lives in Hull which is a utter sh1thole). he runs for Iceland as his dad was born there and its a lot easier to make there team than GB

A man would be hard pressed to come up with å more Icelandic name!
For anonymously posting links (apparently, was new to me as well). My normal IP Adresse got an never expiring ban without any prior warning after I attempted to open a thread containing two links one week ago, so ever since I have to use a VPN and post from a different browser than I normally use. I guess it's part of some kind of anti spam measures, but the immediate ban might have been be a bit drastic lol
Sorry this happened, it sounds like you got caught accidentally by one of our spam filters. Email us at and we can unban you.

It was the only season in which he didn't improve from the previous (excluding the indoor 1500 WR in Lievin). He ran a 3:46 in Bislett which was a decent outdoor opener, "jogged" a 13:02 at Sound Running Meet and he did win every race he entered, but overall his weakest season in his senior career by far.

Henrik said Jakob was in “monster form” in late fall 2022 -perhaps eventually recovered fully. But of course he then got sick again (but not covid)…
After nearly calling it a day on his career after countless injuries, FI comes home with a 7”39,97 win in Espoo, FIN. Maybe we haven’t seen the last of the middle musketeer?
Filip is running another 3000m against a stellar field in Lievin, tomorrow. (Gebrhiwet ++). His 7.39 is slightly better than Jakob’s indoor pb, and thus the family record indoors -exciting to see if he can cut another second and beat Nordås’ fresh National indoor record of 7.39 low…
