Can we chill on this narrative a tad…Barega ran 12:43 for 5,000 in old spikes at the same age. Mehary 12:54/26:37 younger. Myers is historic but it’s at 1500…and this is a really promising 3,000 mark. Also valid Qs on these guys ages, but Myers is a phenom period, though a little behind Jakob/Laros (gap may really shrink this year).
EDIT: Just wary of putting him ahead of Bekele or something lol
1) He's not a age cheater 2) 7'33 indoor 3000m is equivalent to 12'50 outdoor 5000m (i know people don't give much credit to the IAAF scoring table here but it is what it is)
3) he's a little behind jakob and laros at the same age (18's season : 3'31 vs 3'33) ; but i'm sure the gap will shrink this year yes ; and Laros ran 13'23 at 18, I'm sure 7'33 is better !
4th U20 all-time behind Ghebriwet, Koech and Mehary ; better than guys like Aregawi or Barega.
how fast can he run this summer ?

3:47.48 in the indoor mile today. 18yo. He's a one in a century talent, mark my words.

Do you consider him to be an even bigger talent than Jakob and Laros?
(Personally I think this is a hard one. Their all amazing. Jakob and Laros didn't run that many indoor races in their teens (at least not in world class meets like this one) )

Good question, i said "one in a century" because I'm really hyped rn, but I don't really know. My first reaction when I saw him run 3'33 at ~16 was to think he was an "early maturation" athlete, but he kept improving. He also has a good range from 800 to 3000m (and certainly 5000m).
Only time will tell, but he's at least as talented as Laros, (better in my opinion).
Jakob, for now, is in a league of his own because he was not only awesome in young categories, but improved significantly after 19-20. Moreover, when he was a teen the middle distance field was less competitive. Laros and Myers can benefit from fast races (3'27/3'28 ; 3'45-3'47) in which they are paced until the finish line.
So Coscoran is a 12:45 guy. Enjoy the hype train! Yes he is ahead of Laros at 3,000 no doubt. He ran 7:33 and I think has a great 3:48-9 chance at Millrose.
I’d give myself a harder time but I asked Myers post-race and he literally said he expected to run 3:49 and maybe sneak out a 3:48. He was stunned by top 3 as well as 3:47. Coevett et al I eat my words, guy turned a corner the last few months and is really special. It would be awesome if he runs World Indoors:
