Hiltz throwing shade to Letsrun interviewers

My thoughts on this thread are simple.

1) It's a little disappointing to me that Nikki can't separate the journalist side of LetsRun from the messageboard.

2) It's ironic that she doesn't appreciates the key ideal that this messageboard represents as this board is all about one thing - free expression. It's something we've adamantly stood for for almost 25 years - even if it's cost us a lot financially as it scares off brands. We've never wavered and recent U-turns by twitter and then facebook have made me feel quite good.

Free expression is VERY important. In fact, it's only a free country like America - where free expression is allowed - that nonbinary/trans/, etc. could become a thing.

Ironically, instead of understanding freedom allowed them to hold their views - their movement - along with many left ideas in recent years - became quite dictatorial and close-,minded. If someone else doesn't recognize your pronoun and say it correctly or let you dominate their sports like Lia Thomas, they are castigated and viewed as a bigot.

What are my takes on Nikki? Please explain.

I think Nikki is an interesting person and amazing competitor but I think the whole pronoun thing has been a huge disservice to humanity. TO me, it's quite antiquated. We are teaching people if you feel a certain way or want to dress a certain way, you are 'male' or 'female'. If a three year old boy wants to wear a dress, let him do it if yo want as a parent but don't tell him he's a girl - he'll never be a girl. That's insane. Gender, like religion, is a faith and should never be asked about in an official capacity. Sex obviousy at times needs to be.

My only other thought is it's quite difficult to expect an announcer to get the pronouns correct. Imagine if we had a race with like 4-5 different genders in it. In a private setting, one as a matter of courtesy, would probably want to do it. If I asked someone to call me Bob instead of Rob, it's not a big deal. But for me to get super mad if they don't or if they forget is insane.

And actually what some of you are complaining about - his desire to be liked by the pros- may be why he was so nice to me - as he wanted me to like him as well but it worked!!

You once started a thread asking if she is still considered a lesbian and were rightly pilloried for it. You then locked it and hid behind the guise of “I just wanted to know because we are doing an article about her pride run race!” Which wasn’t an article about the race it was an blurb ridiculing the winning times of the non-binary category with absolutely no need to have the lesbian thread in the first place.

Don’t pretend that’s journalism. Don't pretend you haven’t taken jabs.

Yes, nothing says 'free expression' like half the threads on this forum getting deleted without any explanation every single day.

In fact, if you look at this very thread, half the posts on this thread have already been removed.

This post reads like someone who sets everyone's house on fire, then gathers everyone to lecture them on fire safety, holding themselves up as a shining example of how it should be done.

If Nikki thought the competition was weaker in the men's category they'd transition pronto.

I will admit your story shows a side of Chavez that is respectable. I can appreciate that.

Rojo, did you know what for a number of years, every interview Chavez did always concluded with the question, “what is the worst thing you’ve ever been called on the Letsrun forums?”

Podcast interview, I mean

LRC to their credit allow a wider range of topics than 99% of forums, but they still have a moderation policy. Civility, staying on topic, not spamming etc. You mistake free expression of ideas as freedom to express your ideas any way you like. The two are not the same.

It really is cute how misogynists can't write three sentences without telling on themselves.

Hint: when you say things like "the LGBTQWEIGMUSDGE team" you make it clear that you are too biased and triggered to have a logical fact-based conversation.

As a father whose daughter came out as bi in 7th grade (during covid), then gay (in 8th grade), then trans (in 9th grade) and who wanted to be they/them (annoying to say the least as the burden was on us to change all of a sudden), and is now back to gay only... the whole gender thing is clearly a fad and fluid. Niki my disagree with me, but the country and statistics are clearly showing that to be the truth. Its also why, quite honestly, people should stop being hung up so much on the issue. Its pretty much back to the fringes.

For perspective, the non-gender bathrooms for the 2-3y after covid were the busiest bathrooms at the high school. Now they barely get used. My daughter also doesn't believe in biologically males participating in female athletics and nor do any of her friends. The explosion of Trans was a covid phenomena propagated by TikTok (primarily) and liberal media and educators. In another 12m it will be completely fringe and back to pre-covid type levels.

I actually do believe there can be circumstances where a boy truly believes and feels like a girl and vice versa. But this is probably 0.001% of the population. At one point it felt in some areas of the country it was 10% or mmore. Its probably now less than 1% even in those areas and dropping fast.

The influence of TikTok and the politicization can't be understated in influencing our youth's views on this. I was always supportive of my daughter, but as someone who NEVER presented as anything other than a female, I didn't buy it.

Gay, sure. Maybe. But not trans. Regardless, the movement if you want to call it that is pretty much dead. We should all just move on.

Under the logic of the pro-trans crowd, I can only assume that Hiltz probably does not consider Hiltz to be a lesbian. A lesbian is a woman who is with another woman but Hiltz doesn't view themselves as a woman.

Do you not remember when CeCe Telfer declared she wanted to be with a man - a straight man? That clearly indicates that the biological sex of the trans person is irrelevant - their gender is all defining.

As for Chavez asking people what's the worse thing that's been said about them on here, I don't view that as some huge indictment either. It's clear he views the forum as the heartbeat of running fans. I can't control what fans think.

Look at the NFL, I think Mike Tomlin is a SUPERB coach. Most of Pittsburgh wants him fired.

For the umpteenth time, a boy who wants to wear a dress is a boy who wants to wear a dress. He is not a trans girl. If you let him wear a dress, he will be satisfied.

I'm curious why I was downvoted? I'm a pretty liberal guy living in a suburb of NY. Voted Clinton, Gore, Obama (once, Romney once), Biden and Harris and this is just fact. My oldest son will be the first to tell you that teachers following covid were on clear instruction to tell the kids they can be whatever they want. Every guidance counselor in my 99% democratic suburb rolled their eyes on the post-covid phenomena of trans. "Everyone" emerged from lockdown influenced by TikTok and a sense of community. Hours of indoctrination left a massive amount of 12-22yo questioning their gender (then for a while questioning their level off autism). Why chose when the world is telling you you can be anything. What we would have called a tomboy in 1986 or an alternateen in 1996 became trans in 2021. Do people really think that covid suddenly changed human biology? No, of course not. This was a social experiment that is fading. You can see it if you have kids who have gone through the experience. Very few go by they/them anymore. Literally maybe 10% of the kids who were 2years ago still go by they/them. I imagine that will be even less in a few years when covid is even further in the rear-view mirror.

When you use hyperbolic statements such as "every guidance counsellor" and "99% democratic" "and massive about questioning their gender", combined with open derision in phrases like "hours of indoctrination", people take you less seriously because your bias is simply so obvious.
