In the Tour de France, cyclists are constantly surrounding by spectators basically an arms length away from them while riding 25+ mph. If they can race in that type of environment, runners shouldn’t have issues racing with bikes around them.

There were some VERY annoying influencers on the course. Some Bandit bros getting chased by photographers, alexi Pappas walking the course with a dude in a tuxedo, bunch of other boutique running brand guys weaving all over the place to get to their photographers. Choi was behind me so don’t know what shenanigans he was up to. This type of nonsense is becoming way too normal.
Just saw the video of 2 people riding inside of the barriers on electric citibikes leading Matt to film (it’s on his Insta stories). That’s incredibly obnoxious and disrespectful to the other runners and the race. Nobody near him was going to win the race, but impeding people who worked hard and spent money to be there for his own spectacle is just inappropriate. I can confident say that I would have pushed those guys into the barriers had they gotten in my way. Maybe they were coordinated with the race press but even that is a bad call.
I don’t have anything against people trying to make content but don’t use a race situation for it. There’s a time and a place. maybe I’m just old but this sh!t is getting kind of out of hand. It was like the instagram olympics out there.
Caitlyn Miller is running Indianapolis on Saturday. Guarantee she crushes his time ... again. The drop from Colorado to Indiana alone will be a huge benefit. I think she may go sub-2:50. What will the Choi Army say?!
