Without the favortism most sprinters receive when it comes to drug use - and in terms of being allowed to miss tests - this AA fraud with her Ivy “degree”, ‘Miss Whereabouts’ wouldn’t have made it. Just another manufactured “star” with no substance. lol

I'm surprised she didn't feel safe at Harvard.

I can't relate. I ran track in high school and college, both teams were pretty evenly split between black people and white people. I never felt in danger while doing 400 repeats or anything like that, though.

Well Gabby is saying she felt safer surrounded by black people. So that will trigger some. They might suggest that if Galen Rupp had said that he felt safer surrounded by white people that this would be a problem.

I'm a person of color who also grew up around mostly white people, but diversity in a workplace makes a difference to me.

That said, media like this invites people to overstate or be dramatic about it.

This is the where people on the left get it wrong. nobody rages or loses sleep on this stuff. we don't need a safe space for it. it's just an easy lens to look at and see the hypocrisy of the other side.

And most people will avoid this discussion like the plague, because they know it's one that can't be reasonably had in this country.

But let's be clear, this isn't ruining anybody's day. It's nothing more than eye roll material.

Gabby is replying to a lot of comments on that post. She said she never felt unsafe around white coaches but that people lack empathy and can’t understand the experience of being black in America. I get what she’s saying but would argue there’s a very large spectrum of experiences one might face as black in America. Her experience is unique to her. Another black person might feel completely differently
