I should add that Utah will likely also need kola points because #1 NAU and #2 BYU are in their region. I have to say that I like Utah's strategy of going all out in important races. If they don't crater at regionals, with their Nuttycomb and Dellinger results, they are all but assured of going to Nationals. It must feel good.
You honestly- with a straight face- can tell me that Birnbaum is happy with where he is today?
Maybe they are in the middle of a hard training block and he’s thrilled? Who tapers for this meet realistically. since you brought up Birnbaum - I will say if I were his coach I would expect him to look like he’s trying a little harder down the last 100 meters - guy looked like he didn’t give a sht.
With Jerry as his coach I am sure he is happy to not be injured right now.
BYU Put 7 guys before Oregon's #1 at Oregon's home meet. That's embarrassing. Legitimately embarrassing. No heart, no competitiveness. Year 3 of Jerry and nothing to show for it except getting annihilated over and over again. What kind of college experience can he pitch to new recruits at this point? Hey, come run for me, you get to race twice before your Junior year and we never win anything.
BYU looks good. I pulling for Clinger to win the NCAA championship this year. He & Bons both seem like they’ve been at BYU forever but I bet they’re still younger than most of the Africans at Oklahoma State, Arkansas, and the other schools that seem like they’ve loaded up on them the past few years.
Has Jerry ever had success coaching college athletes?
come one now. Jerry deserves to be called out for how Oregon is performing right now but lets not act like the Wisconsin Men weren't incredible in XC while he was there.
Breaking: number 22 ranked team gets crushed by number 2 ranked team
Yeah, I’m also confused. Oregon is ranked 22nd. BYU is a solid national championship contender.
Is anyone surprised by this result?
Not by BYU winning, but Oregon, Gonzaga and MSU pretty much three-way-tied (top 5 average times were identical ). Not sure about Gonzaga’s line up but MSU did not run two of their top 5.

They aren't younger than anyone. You would lose that bet. They have been at BYU over the span of TWO decades.
Just looked up Clinger's age on World Athletics. Knew he was old, but didn't realize the guy is 26 (10/9/1998). Seems a little outrageous for him to still be competing against 20 year-old kids in college. To put it in perspective, Cook is 22 as a senior (born in 2002) and Birnbaum is 19 (born in 2005).

Rescore the meet without Clinger then if it'll make you feel better.
