You can look at the violations that UCLA accepted the punishments for. The difference is, UCLA accepted the results of the investigation and Brosnan didn't. They are going to be going through the process of hearings to address the same issues and there will be a ruling on him as well. Who knows, maybe they will find he is exonerated, but there is also a chance he will end up with penalties as well.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I can't think of any professional runner who would put their career in the hands of someone who's never coached anything but high schoolers.
Mike Scannell says otherwise.
prior first hand experience makes a difference there.
What law did he break? You can’t just make up information and expect people to believe you. This thread has reached an all time low

It looks like UCLA got violations and not Brosnan. northing more and nothing less

Are you dumb? They have separated the investigations. UCLA has agreed to accept the ruling and Brosnan has decided he wants to fight further. They are proceeding with hearings individually with Brosnan and the outcome has not yet been determined.
When Brosnan was at UCLA and had men going from 4:02 to 3:54 in the mile and athletes going to NCAA championships that no one thought could ever be All-American. He also has HS kids running top NCAA times.
Grant Fishers HS coach is killing it with Grant. When you can coach you can coach and Brosnan is one of the best we've seen.
not a fair comparison as Grant and his high school coach have long history together. he's been coaching Grant off and on his entire career.
aside from Sean's Newbury Park squad he has no history coaching pros. If I was a runner looking for a new coach it would be a major risk to go with a guy who's resume is nothing but high schoolers and a semester at college, especially when there are many more experienced pro coaches out there. at the very least I'd have a long long talk with him to make sure he understands what he's getting into. he's not going for state titles, we're talking about peoples livelihoods, the stakes are much higher. not saying he CAN'T or will never be a pro coach, I'm just looking at it from the athletes point of view.
and Ive met Sean, he seemed like a decent guy. If he ever does get into coaching again I hope he's a success.
None you dummy. You said that there are no other rules other than NCAA rules. I pointed out a bunch of things that coaches can get fired for. Pay attention. It isn't complicated. He is an arrogant moron who thought he could do what he wanted rather doing what his employer instructed him to do. They canned him. He broke the rules of his employment contract by not following orders. He will never work again.
The NCAA is a big house of cheaters and arbitrary, constantly changing rules. Don't tell me that what Brosnan did, actively recruiting athletes from other programs, was on the level of those legends of the sport who bestride the tv landscape like a colossus, your Rick Pitinos, Mike Kzykzewskis (okay, I tried, Coach K), Bill Sel(ves), Arizona coaches, Nick Sabans, ....
The whole thing is a cesspool and no NCAA distance coach ever did anything remotely close to the big dogs. But Vin did some shady things to get World's in Eugene with his Nike relationships, and he skates by.

So, are you saying he didn't do anything wrong and was shafted or are you just upset that other people who you think did things wrong weren't held accountable?

Hi Sean!
I usually don't agree when posters claim a supportive post is the person themself, but I have to say, this kind of does sound like Sean Brosnan wrote it. Just too over the top. Although it could just as easily be a troll pretending to be Brosnan.

You forgot to insert “from two families” between “kids” and “running”

Why hasn't this guy already been locked up of he's such a mid-distance whisperer? Is he coaching anyone at all right now?
