Which people (bar Kenyans themselves)? It was just seen as a bland high carb bready type thing that fitted in with Kenyan agriculture, culture, poverty and distance runners needing food of this type to help fuel with low fat and modest protein. It has almost zero traction amongst serious runners in Europe and USA tho no doubt they may partake keenly if they go to Kenya.
Re Kerr, I still don;t get why so many people assume the detail revealed is a lie. And it's possible that the 2.6k kcal calculation could easily be 15-20% shy once one factors in exact portions, exact 'brand' and exact cooking methods. The point about his naps and non-running energy demands being well contained was well made
