wow. Forgot what the site used to look like (I've been wandering around here for 20+ years).
Naahhh – you folks are doing a good job, but I looked back even further – beyond Alan Web, beyond McGelligot (RIP), beyond Noah, the ark and the flood – and I found one thread dedicated to a 2-year-old “future Olympian” who somehow broke some age group record. I think her name was Katelyn Touhy or something like that. But that thread got taken over by some zealots who were claiming that one-year-old Parker Valby had much more potential than Touhy. Posters were saying something like (pixels are blurred) “Neglect Great Wings.” I guess they both disappeared. Anyone know what happened to them? Maybe burned out in middle school?
The very first post is unfindable. It doesn't exist anymore because the forum that was first used was shut down because the scripts were using up too much resources on the server. See here
A new temporary message board was then setup while the brojo's tried to get their own server. The very first page of that board can be found here in May 2001. The very first post was "test3" by test3.
The temporary board was then dropped and letsrun changed over to a new board in 2002. This is the earliest page I could find, not the first ever page on the new board as it's a maze to navigate on the wayback machine and was more than likely never captured but nonetheless, here it is
Wejo doesn't remember what the first ever post was so I guess we'll never know.
It's crazy how you could get a good 6-figure paying job producing a website that looked like that back in those days.
I wonder if the same can be done for the Dyestat forum that went away in 2010.
And for the TrackTalk.net forum that went away in 2024
Crawler error when trying to find dyestat.com forums from 2000. But you can also try using google search to see if Google has any cached versions. Just change your search range.
But it looks like a lot of results for Dyestat might have changed due to the domain changing to runnerspace.
