2) Absolutely not. At the end when he had to do only a partial master lap, the timing system showed 1005 miles. That tells me that they only timed when he went through the tent after he finished the master lap. All other laps where not really recorded. People on tiktok mentioned that sometimes he was in the wrong lap and there were a lot of lane violations as well. The whole set up was very prone to errors. Not to mention the illegal pacing often with two people at the same time. There is a reason why a real race needs 3 racers to be a official race. Here there were 10-20 people just working for that one runner. I am sure they looked the other way sometimes to make it work.

3) No idea but I guess the money was raised.
There was no timing chip on his ankles or shoes. There was a rubber physio band
2) Somewhat confident. I would characterise this as a charity run rather than an official 1000mile WR attempt.
3) Over $2.6 million raised and still counting. Has received widespread acclaim. Some high profile athletes and individuals across the country have expressed their support (Jessica Fox - canoeist, Dylan Alcott - wheelchair tennis, Israel Adesanya - UFC fighter, Alex Volkanoski- UFC fighter, Mick Fanning - surfer, Pat Cummins - cricketer, Hamish Blake - comedian).

Confident without a timing chip? Master Laps updated on a 'say so'?
Somehow these supporters don't know the difference between questioning legitimacy and record seeking. Between observations of narcissism and self importance and hating. Between 'using charity' as a means to get fame and really doing things for the right reasons.
Most of these followers never contribute to charity, waiting on the next band wagon to leech onto. Let them show their past donations. So 'is it a good thing?' , temporariliy yes, but in the big scheme of things these social causes are well looked after by a somewhat socialist govt. Where else would you be homeless than here and why would you be in the first case, we know some of the reasons.
Go take money out of your pocket and buy lots of beanies from Mark Hughes fighting brain cancer. I do and I give it to the team that work for me at events. Get involved with you local club, organise some races etc...lots more than just tiktokking someone to fame by giving him $10

I'm still waiting for your advice on how to donate to your 50 marathons in a row Samuel xx
I am somewhat confident that NB ran approximately 1000miles for charity. I do not believe his run meets the standards to be compared with others who have completed that distance in officially organised events. I have major reservations regarding the ethics of various strategies and narratives used by NB and his team to fundraise for charity. Some decisions may be due to ignorance, others are just downright deceptive. The harnessing of social media to berate, abuse and silence those who have questions or misgivings is outrageous.
I believe there is a reasonably high probability that he ran shorter than 1000miles due to the format, lane cutting and human error.
Mate you are sooooo bitter, it’s laughable. Im embarrassed for you. As a donor to the cause, I can confirm I buy those Mark Hughes beanies, I also donate to other causes because thats what decent people do. NB has a following because he’s a good person, selfless, empathic and you sir are just a sad person sitting behind a keyboard frothing with hate.

It's a personality cult and, unfortunately for you, you've drunk the kool aid.
Nedd may well be all those things - who knows. But he misrepresented this challenge (it was never a serious record attempt) - where else should that be discussed if not a running forum and a thread specifically dedicated to his performance, with input from multi-day ultra runners?
Why are you all so desperate to police what's being discussed if the sum total of your experience in the sport is whatever this bloke's marketing has told you?
Look at your first sentence and your last, then ask yourself if you see any irony in accusing other people of "frothing" behind a keyboard on the internet...
I’m not surprised that you think calling out poor behaviour on the internet as hate, given you appear to be part of that bitter club. I’ll drink that cool aid everyday if it means standing with people who choose to help and inspire others through their own actions. Keep sitting behind that keyboard casting judgement on others to fill your cup up!

Could you please explain what you are actually trying to say here and why you think that makes any sense?

I've said repeatedly that I respect what Nedd's put his body through. I just appreciate integrity and don't surrender my critical faculties for celebrities.
If you're capable of reading what I've written, you'll see the main people I've cast judgement on are Nedd's weird acolytes. You don't get to tell people on a running forum that they're not allowed to question his running. He made a dodgy claim, got called out on it, and failed to accomplish it. It doesn't negate the funds raised.
There must be some sort of celebrity gossip website you're better suited to?

Well, that's the problem right there. Barefoot timing made it so difficult to understand their "system" that it's probably fair to say that there was no system in place.
I am not under the impression that Nedd Brockmann cheated but there is no way that this charity event was recorded in a proper way. He was in the wrong lane at times and they might forgot to get him to run a couple of laps. Hard to know when not every lap is time stamped and recorded with a camera including a digital watch. They did that already in the mid 80ies by the way.
I'm sure Nedd believes he ran 1000 miles. He may have run more, he may have run less, but the awful measurement system means we'll never know, so may as well believe he did too, as in the big scheme of things...it doesn't matter. It was definitely ballpark.
I have major reservations regarding the ethics of various strategies and narratives used by NB and his team to fundraise for charity.
The fact that Brockmann directly targeted his business rivals in the chocolate milk industry shows beyond doubt that this run was about grabbing a bigger share of profits from that industry.
Charity is being used as a hook to promote his own business and brand and he's getting very wealthy out of it.
People buy Nedd's Milk because they think he's cool and it's all for charity but you're just being sucked in by a capitalist who's better at marketing than he is at running.
Even the whole tradie image making himself out to be some kind of working class hero is bullsh*t. He had a privileged upbringing going to a posh private school. That's probably where he learnt to be a successful businessman.
I don't know what all the vitriol is about. It's not a race - it's a 'charity run'. It will never be ratified as anything offiical. He did run a long way and raised a lot of money for charity. In that regard it was a success. Personally I would not give money to any online charity or anything online full stop. Read about Live Aid back in the day as to why.
