Leave it to some of you freakin' idiots to turn this from a Rock N' Roll results post to a thread on bigotry and name calling. If you people spent half as much time running....

Well, I'm an old bastard, so I'm not going to be rujning much anyways.
Ok, so I made a couple stupid posts. Just shoot me (not really, hater). But Jason's comment about the guys name is not bigoted. End of story.
I was hoping Cox and Shay could do a little better but I have to respect their own strategy. What would you guys have said if they went out with the leaders and then died and the women beat them? They have to run their own race and they are both making improvements. For Cox you would think he could go faster with a 2:13:54 marathon PR but he did what he could. Aish ran a pretty good race, he seems willing to mix it up, did he run against more African runners from Div. II schools? :-) Here's a 411 for another runner who would have come in right behing Shay at 1:07:22 ... Teren Jameson, he recently won a Utah 1/2 marathon where he was unchallenged, he might have gone faster. Say hi to Jen Rhines for me.
It is time we stop analyzing OUR runners poor performances that they have year in and year out. The
Americans today would not even be competitive to the Americans of yesteryear (Bill Rodgers, Alberto Salazer,
Joe Falcon, Jim Spivey, Sydney Maree, Frank Shorter, Joan
Beniot-Samuelson, Lesley Lehane, PattiSue Palmer, Cathy
O', Lisa Weinbach, Mark Nenow) those athletes may not have won all the time but they were competitive most of the time! The shame of it is that 8-20 years have passed and all these athletes would still be USA national class today! How many other countries with our talent pool and resources have staginated as badly as the US. We as fans shouldn't have to what for Ritz, Jorge, Donald, Shay, Slattery, Moise Joesph, and Alan to step up (but they are on the way), the US should not have more than 1-3 down years to replace old talent. Look at Japan (women), Spain, Kenya, and even Burundi have had more Internationally competitive runners (per capita) than OUR country!
America should always have at least individual running (every 3-4 years):
Men Women
800m 1:43.15 1:56.35
1500m 3:29.80 3:57.75 (X) Suzy
5000m 12:50.00 14:50.00 (X) Regina
10000m 27:05.00 30.50.00 (X) Deena
Steeple 8:09.00 9:45.00 (X) Elizabeth
1/2 Mar 1:01:30 (Khalid) 1:09:25
Marathon 2:08:30 2:23:30
The majority of OUR athletes are trainging to be competitive instead of training to WIN overseas and Major Meets! Can you believe Geb compared his X-country race with Abdi as "Geb and Paul only on a smaller scale". There
is no way any World Class athlete should think like that. I am curious, what do you think is wrong with the middle/
distance running in America?
Hopefully Nicole, Marla, Seneca, Dave, and Gabe will step up MORE next year and be medal contenders.

UK, Germany, Finland.
There's three. Similar talent pools to yesteryear but not nearly as competitive as yesteryear.
How about Aus and New Zealand !!!!
